The season 2001-2002 in brief….

Posted by Daniel Berger at Sep 21, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Hey look, what a surprise, haven’t we been predicted at end of season 2001 to finish 4th this season… Yeahh it worked out, but looks like planning economy either. Thanks to the committee anyway for the trust in our team. Yes our team certainly experienced some great new “flesh”. Especially our defence around Jochen got support from Ansgar and Gerri (our Austrian “Breezer-Vernichtungs-Anlage). The midfield saw new faces as well with Xu Tao, Michael S. and Michael B., Heinrich back on the pitch and in addition “Neuzugang Bauer” aus …, egal findet ihr eh nicht auf der Karte. Our offence was equally refreshed by Andreas Weichselgartner, Jacky, Jese und Heinz (Monteur der “Breezer-Vernichtungs-Anlage”). And since a long time we were able again to claim for some trophies, not quite achieved but Andreas finishing the top goal scorer list as third (with 11 goals) and Xu Tao as ninth (with 8 goals) certainly helped to achieve the 4th rank after all. Have a look at how we played during the season: 3rd November 2001 Lions vs. Judy's Krauts: 3-2 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Xu Tao 10th November 2001 Oranje vs. Judy's Krauts: 1-2 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Xu Tao 17th November 2001 Judy's Krauts vs. Vikings: 2-3 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Heinrich Schwarz 24th November 2001 United vs. Judy's Krauts: 3-1 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner 1st December 2001 Judy's Krauts vs. Les Bleus: 1-3 Goals by: Robert Ostendorf 8th December Azzuri vs. Judy's Krauts: 0-4 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner (2x), Xu Tao, Steven Xu 15th December Shooters vs. Judy's Krauts: 2-3 Goals by: Ullrich Keller, Andreas Weichselgartner, Heinrich Schwarz 12th January 2002 Vikings vs. Judy's Krauts: 3-3 Goals by: Robert Ostendorf, Xu Tao, Xu Bobby 19th January 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. Oranje: 6-0 Goals by: Heinrich Schwarz (2x), Gerhard Hohl, Xu Tao (2x), Xu Bobby 26th January 2002 Japan vs. Judy's Krauts: 2-2 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Xu Tao 23rd February 2002 Les Bleus vs. Judy's Krauts: 0-2 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner (2x) 2nd March 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. Azzurri: 4-0 Goals by: Heinrich Schwarz, Xu Tao, Jacky Ji, Andy Zhang 20th April 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. Shooters: 3-3 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Heinz Kaier, Xu Tao 11th May 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. United: 2-5 Goals by: Andreas Weichselgartner, Jesse Duan 18th May 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. Japan: 1-3 Goals by: Jacky Ji 25th May 2002 Judy's Krauts vs. Lions: 2-1 Goals by: Jesse Duan, Hans Siegmund Well some really successful matches, especially those against Shooters and Lions, which always means a lot to us and releases additional power. And not to forget, the final words from the team manager in the “Mei Wenti”:

--- Hi Krauts, The season is over by now and we finished by far better than one could have expected. We started from scratch at the beginning and formed an outstanding good team. Meanwhile we have more than fifty players registered from which more than thirty are active players. We manage to integrate all players. Everyone is playing even if more than 25 players show up at the pitch on our Saturday matches. Now we would like to thank you for your always-good response on the emails and your numerous appearance to training sessions and matches. Last but not least we would like to thank our sponsors, Judy's Too and Schenker. They are our reliable financial backbone. Thanks a lot to all of you and hope to see you all next season with the same good team spirit. ---

The season 2002-2003 in brief….

(...ein ernstes Wort...) From the Team Manager as written in the “Mei Wenti”. For some questions there are simply no answers, for example: “Why we did not win the league this year?” Everything started as planned: new name, new dress and a lot of new players. But what good are over 40 registered players (the only result not honored with a trophy) if only few survive the tough week, especially the Thursdays and Fridays. At least our sponsor Judys was happy with our performance this year. Most frequent comment of our players when met in Maoming Lu: “I am just checking the others” (“For whom you carry the beer, then?”). Of course there are plenty other excuses for not reaching our target, only think about the weather last season. Whereas the league showed again a qualitative improvement we “lost” our complete defense already in the middle of the season. But since the SIFL has no age regulation we could manage to bring together a team (almost) every Sat. Fun we had, that’s for sure - more off than on the pitch as a fact does not really matter, does it? Best players quote of the year as example: “I am comiiiing!!!” (Heinrich, demanding for the ball in the match against Azzurri). Strangely, whenever we played best (against the TOPs) we lost, most of our other games … you know. Statistically we fell by two ranks compared to last season but nonetheless we will aim for higher next season. Promised!!! An advantage could bring dramatic changes of SIFL rules, such as kick-off starting from Sat afternoon and increasing Chinese players on pitch from three to at least ten. PLEASE!!! However changes are certain, if only you will see the Krauts with a new outfit next season and perhaps with a new name … Last but not least it should be mentioned that we at least got some other – equally honorable than the trophy itself – awards such as: Jacky finished sixth in top scorer list with 11 goals (even though 1 was forgotten against Vikings, they just lost the game report – so it would bring him on third position) Gerri was selected into the dream team as, of course, defender! Unfortunately he was not there, neither to pick up his price nor to play actually. Number 2 in biggest squad with 45 registered players, only topped by Japan who registered 51 (but including lot of females, who as you know, do not even know what the round thing is for…) Well, lets look forward, enjoy your summer but in September …. You know the drill…. Zicke, zacke, oi, oi, oi!image
