‘Field’s U15’s bounced back from the previous weeks disapointing 0-0 draw against the same opposition with comfortable win in this years league Cup. ‘Field’s best football was played in the first half Max Galbraith and James Kealy both having excellent games. It was Jamie Locke who finally broke 110 mins of deadlock between the two sides when he slipped his defender on the left, cut inside and shot hard and low into the far corner for a deserved lead, you could feel the relief run through the side and there was only one team in it from then on. Micheal Robson hit the woodwork before Jamie Folley added the second and Sam Lewiston the third before half time. ‘Field took thier foot off the gas a bit in the second half but were still always in control David Shutt at centre back having a very assured game. The final goal came when Chrissie Pestle’s powerfull header from a corner was blocked on the line and Vice skipper Joe Byrne fired home the fourth goal to cap a good days work. Squad: Scott Pinnells, Joe Byrne, Ross Melinn, David Shutt, Chris Pestle, Jamie Folley, Michael Robson, Max Galbraith, James Kealy, Jamie Locke, Sam Lewiston, Subs: Mark Robson, Nick Worsley, Ryan King.

Westfield 0 Feltham 0

It was a case of after the lord mayor’s show for ‘Field’s U15’s as they followed the previous weeks excellent 9 goal performance against Knaphill with a below par performance against a hard working and committed Feltham side. As with the previous week they looked very solid at the back and restricted Feltham to only a couple of chances throughout the game, the best though could have proved costly as it came in the last min as ‘Field pushed forward searching for a winner they probably deserved. Jamie Folley looked the most likely to unlock the Feltham defence he put many telling crosses in, unfortunately none received the finish the deserved, he also hit the post with a powerful drive. Near the end Joe Byrne connected with a stunning volley which also flew agonizingly wide and Sam Lewiston and Nick Worsley both had a couple of good chances each to seal a home win but it was not to be on a frustrating day. Max Galbraith’s had a possitive impact on things after his introduction at half time Team: Stone, Shutt, Mellin, Buckland, Pestle, Kealy, Robson, Robson, Folley, Locke, Lewiston Subs: Byrne, Worsley, Galbraith.

Westfield followed their good pre-season form with a win and convincing team performance in their first league outing against a Knaphill side who battled hard throughout. Sam Lewiston lead the way with a hatrick, Jamie Folley and Nick Worsley both chipped in with two and there was a goal a piece for David Shutt and Jamie Locke. For 'Field Steven Buckland had a particularly good game at centre back his pace and reading of the game limiting the nippy Knaphill forwards to minimal chances. Team: Stone, Byrne, Mellin, Buckland, Pestle, Galbraith, Mark Robson, Mike Robson, Folley, Locke, Lewiston Subs: Kealy, Shutt, Worsley.

‘Field made good use of their final friendly before the league campaign starts next week with a really good all-round team display against Woking Boys. From the start ‘Field looked composed and passed the ball really well creating numerous good chances hitting the bar three times in the first half twice from Michael Robson and once from Jamie Folley. The score at half time was still deadlocked at 0-0 but shortly after half time Sam Lewiston broke free to open the scoring with a clinical finish, the reward for a hard working personal performance. The second came from Steven Buckland who came forward to head home a corner and cap a fine performance at centre half. Sub Danny Hyde put ‘Field 3-0 up coming in late to force home at the far post. Woking with 3 ‘Field players in their line-up due to injuries scored a late goal to reward their efforts Mike Robson feeding Parsons for a consolation goal near the end of a good run out for both sides. Team: Stone, Byrne, Mellin, Buckland, Pestle, Galbraith, Mark Robson, Mike Robson, Folley, Locke, Lewiston Subs: Kealy, King, Worsley, Hyde.
