Trumbull Eagles Hockey

Junior, Tyler Hickey is this week’s POW. The defenseman leads all Eagles in hits and is easily Trumbull’s most physical player. He has the ability to take the opposition or their top players off their game with his aggressive style of play. His often overlooked speed, skill and endurance have also been a huge factor as Trumbull’s defense has been thinned out due to injuries.

Peter Antoniou scored a power play and a short handed goal to help the Eagles to a 5-1 win over the Cheshire Rams. Giancarlo Montonaro had a goal and two assists while Luca Minopoli and Austin Ashby rounded out the scoring with a goal apiece. Adam Guttman made 33 saves and added to the offense with an assist…. Guttman currently leads all goaltenders in points, with 1pt.

FCIAC playoffs begin this Saturday, 02/26. Trumbull (#8) will travel to Darien to take on the top seeded, Blue Wave (#1) at 7:30pm at the Darien Ice Rink. Click the following link for all match ups and results.

Senior, Matt Farasciano is our Player of the Week. Matt has played an important role this season and is one of Trumbull’s top defensemen. He has an excellent skill set, good offensive instincts, a big shot and currently leads all blueliners with 4 goals. The senior has taken on a heavy work load, logging a ton of minutes game in and game out.

This thursday, 02/17/22, the Trumbull Eagles will honor their senior class as they take on Stamford/Westhill at 7:30pm at The Shelton Rinks. Adam Guttman, Matt Farasciano, Luca Minopoli, Peter Antoniou, Zach Jager and Stephanos Galatas have all played a big part in the teams’ success over the past four years!
