Patrick Devore (14-9=23pts) scored one even strength, one short handed and one power play goal during Trumbull's 5-3 victory over rival Masuk High School. Brother, James Devore (9-9=18pts) added his own short handed goal off a Ryan Kisken pass. Nick Watson rounded out the scoring with a first period blast from the point. The win was Trumbull's thirteenth of the season breaking last season's school record of twelve regular season victories. After a tough 1-0 loss to DI power Greenwich, the Eagles finished with a solid 13-7-0 record and now await the DII state tournament. The 2002-2003 team still holds the record for total wins with fourteen, including two FCIAC play-offs victories. Trumbull's fourth place FCIAC finish will have them face Darien this Saturday 02/21 @ 6:00pm @ Terry Conners. imageimage

THE PUCK STOPS HERE!

A big part of Trumbull's success has been the outstanding play of goaltender, Charlie Ogalin. A freshman, Charlie has shown great confidence and is incredibly cool under pressure. As of 2/13, he has posted a save percentage of 91.5%, has a goals against average of 2.48 and has recorded four shut-outs. In Trumbull's first ever win over Darien, Ogalin turned back 45 of 46 shots- setting the stage for the Eagles' 2-1 victory. Charlie is an excellent student and also plays football and lacrosse for Trumbull High.imageimage

TRUMBULL QUALIFIES FOR DII STATE TOURNAMENT

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Feb 9, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Saturday night, the Trumbull skaters qualified for the DII State Tournament with a one sided (8-0) victory over Fairfield High School. With five games remaining, the Eagles will look to improve their play-off positioning. Trumbull has qualified for post season play three of their last four seasons and look to make their mark. The program has never advanced past the first round. Trumbull is the ninth DII to qualify and currently holds the same ranking. There are some great websites providing information about the tournament, standings, records, etc. listed on our links page. You should definately check out www.tcrink.com (hit the high school hockey link at the bottom of the page- a tremendous amount of info here) and www.ushsho.com, which provides and interesting "power" ranking. The Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the FCIAC and have put themselves in a good position for the league play-off. This year, only the top eight teams in the conference will qualify for the league tournament. The league has done away with the two tier format leaving the 2002-2003 Eagles as the last tier II champions. imageimage

BIG SHOT

Posted by Coach Gonzo at Jan 15, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Anthony Criscuolo currently leads the Trumbull Eagles in scoring and is one of the area's top forwards with nineteen goals and eleven assists for 30 points through the first thirteen games of the season. A junior, Anthony has been a consistant scorer throughout his high school career. He lead the Eagles in scoring as a freshman and was named team MVP. As a sophomore, he was second in scoring (missing the lead by only one point) and was an FCIAC All West Second Team selection. Off season he skated with the Sea Coast Kings and represented Team Connecticut as a select 16 in the Yankee Festival. This season, he has set the pace for the Trumbull offense and looks to challenge area and conference scorers. He has been Trumbull's go to guy and has come up with some big goals for the Eagles. This past week, he notched the game winner in a huge THS win (2-1) over Darien, a division 1 team that Trumbull had never beaten. The very next game Trumbull found themselves down 2-0 to Westhill, who entered the game with an 8-1-0 record. Anthony responded with two goals to tie the game, setting the stage for Trumbull's 3-2 come from behind victory. imageimage
