THAT'S FOUR IN A ROW
The Eagles improved to 5-3-0 on the year with their 6-1 win over Staples. Senior, Jake Terlik scored two short handed goals to jump start the THS offense. Giancarlo Montanaro buried a goal of his own and fellow senior, Austin Ashby put the Wreckers away with a goal in the second and two more in the third for a hat trick!
The Eagles have two tough games on the horizon. They will be on the road Saturday vs Fairfield and back home on Monday for the Coach Eddy Cup.
EAGLES WIN
Sr, Jake Terlik landed two goals, including the game winner, in the Eagles’ 3-2 win over Norwalk. It was a chippy game with eleven penalties. Terlik’s first goal came on the power play on a nice feed from Nik Smagacz. Giancarlo Montanaro added an unassisted goal.
That’s three wins in a row. The Eagles will host Staples next Wednesday 01/11/ 23 at 8:00pm in Shelton.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jr. Nik Smagacz scored a hat trick in Trumbull’s 6-1 win over Wilton and added an assist in Trumbull’s 3-2 win over Norwalk. The winger has excellent vision and offensive skills. Smagacz is currently tied for the team lead in goals (5), leads the team in assists (5) and total points (10).
EAGLES WIN
Nick Smagacz scored a hat-trick to lead THS to a 6-1 win over the Wilton Warriors. Jake Terlik, Jacques Roy and Drew Kaufman all added goals of their own as Trumbull improved to 3-3-0.
The Eagles will travel to Norwalk to take on the Bears this Saturday 01/07/23 7:00pm.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sr, Giancarlo Montanaro is our POW with a solid performance at the Heuchling Swift Tournament in NH. The shifty winger had two goals and an assist during the three game tourney, including the game winner in Trumbull’s 5-3 win over Portsmouth. The speedy Montanaro has great hands is one of Trumbull’s most creative offensive players.
