SPRING 2006

Posted by Bradley Herr at Mar 23, 2006 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The spring 2006 soccer season is upon us.  The board has been working very hard to make this a successful season.  We are looking forward to a great time together.

Here are some of the important dates to keep in mind as we get ready to play.

March 21, 2006,  7:00PM
Coaches Meeting

All coaches are expected to attend.  There are some significant rule changes this year which will affect all teams from U8 up.  This will be the time to schedule practice times and pick up your rosters.  If you do not have equipment from last year, (please check to see if you do as we did not get a lot of equipment returned after last season) please contact Steve Medarac at medarac@comcast.net before the meeting so he can get it to you.

March 28, 2006
Referee Meeting

There will be a referee meeting on Tuesday at the Highland Middle School at 7:00 PM.  All referees wishing to participate this spring should make an effort to be there.

Take time this season to thank our young referees.  They are all certified and have had at least 12 hours of classroom training.  They are learning like the rest of us.  There are a lot of clubs in our area that do not have enough certified referees to cover a given day.  All of our referees deserve recognition for giving back to the game.

Also, we would encourage all referees to mark you calenders for the last weekend in July.  Ref camp at California state is the best way to improve your reffing skills.  You get to work there with some of the best referees in the area.  The swim party on Saturday night is fun as well.  Ask someone who has been to camp!  You can get further information on the PA West website. www.pawest-soccer.org/refnews.html  Information about camp will be posted there sometime in the future.
