Fall Session 2005

The Fall 2005 session will begin on Saturday, September 10! The B.A.S.A. Board Of Director's held a coaches meeting on Monday, August 29th. The coaches have received their team rosters. You should be hearing from your coach in the near future. We hope that your children enjoy the up coming session! The BASA Board of Directors is a new group that was elected in June of this year, as such we are sure that we will make mistakes. Please be patient with us! We are all volunteers and we are working hard to make this a positive experience for you and your children.

2005 Fall In-house Coaches Meeting

The In-house coaches meeting for the 2005 Fall session will be held on August 29, at 6:30PM in the cafeteria at Highland Middle School. Coaches will receive rosters, schedules, and equipment if needed. This will also be the opportunity to sign up for practice time. During the meeting we will cover the In-house rules and any changes that may have been instituted for the Fall session. All coaches are encouraged to attend. In addition, it would help if you download the Volunteer Disclosure Form and fill it out before the meeting.

Board Position Responsibilities

President

The President shall act as chairman and chair all meetings of the Board of Directors and all membership meetings.  The President may act on behalf of the club as he deems necessary, however all actions are subject to later ratification by the Board of Directors.  The President shall have one vote at all meetings in which he acts as chairman and that vote may only be cast to break a tie.  The President has the right, with concurrence of the Board, to form new committees as needed and may be a member of all committees with the exception of the Appeals Committee.

Vice President
The Vice President shall assume all duties of the President in the absence of the President.  The Vice President shall chair the Rules, Appeals and Discipline Committee and shall be a member of the Classic League Committee.

Secretary
The Secretary shall be responsible for keeping an accurate record of all meetings of the Board, general and special meetings of the membership, as well as all voting results.  The Secretary shall direct that the minutes of all meetings be distributed to the Board of Directors and keep the official calendar of the Association.

The Secretary shall send or oversee the written announcement of all meetings of the Association.  The Secretary shall direct all publications of the club and their related activities.  The Secretary shall oversee the membership distribution list and publication mailing list.

Treasurer
The Treasurer shall oversee the keeping of detailed accounts of all financial transactions of the Association, the collection of all debts and fees owed by the Association.  The Treasurer shall oversee the collection of all receipts and direct receipts to be issued for collection.  The Treasurer shall recommend to the Board of Directors which banking institution the Association shall deal with and any changes that need to be instituted in said accounts.

All debits or other obligations of the Association shall be paid by the Treasurer or with the Treasurer's approval.  All obligations paid by check shall bear the signature of the Treasurer and one of the following Board members: the President, Vice President, Secretary, or Registrar.

The Treasurer shall work with the Board of Directors, financial committee, and budget committee to audit all financial activities on a periodic basis.  The Treasurer shall oversee the preparation of a monthly financial statement for distribution to the Board of Directors.  This shall accompany the meeting agenda for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

The Treasurer shall oversee the financial report for the general meeting and shall oversee the preparation of the final financial statement to the membership at the end of the fiscal year.  The Secretary shall keep copies of all financial reports.

Registrar
The Registrar shall oversee the keeping of a complete record of all teams and players for the purpose of player registration, team affiliation, and fee assessment.  The Registrar shall oversee the preparation of a monthly update on all the above records, as deemed necessary by the Board of Directors, for use by the Board of Directors.

The Registrar shall oversee an audit statement that shall be sent to the affiliates to ascertain the accuracy of the state records.  The Registrar shall oversee all player insurance activities that occur.  The Registrar shall be a member of the Rules, Appeals and Discipline Committee

Coaching Director
The Coaching Director shall chair the Coaching Committee, recommend to the Board coaches within each age group to be Age Group Coordinators, assist the coaches in each age group as necessary, and assume any other responsibilities and duties as directed by the Board.

The Coaching Director shall be a member of the Rules, Appeals, and Discipline Committee, chair the player draft process, and be a member of the Budget and Financial Committee.

Referee Coordinator
The Referee Coordinator shall be responsible for recruiting, training, and proper certification of all club referees’ as necessary.  The Referee Coordinator shall be responsible for assigning and assessing all Referees for events sanctioned by the club.

The Referee Coordinator shall promote the advancement and upgrading the level of performance of all club Referee's who serve B.A.S.A. The Referee Coordinator shall be an active member in the United States Soccer Federation, in an effort to maintain an up to date knowledge of referee activities and requirements.

The Referee Coordinator shall be responsible for conducting yearly rules and regulations clinics for all club referees and coaches.  The Referee Coordinator shall be a member of the Rules, Appeals, and Discipline Committee.

Fields Coordinator
The Fields Coordinator shall be responsible for the maintenance of the playing fields, installation of equipment, distribution of playing equipment and associated materials.  The Field Coordinator shall also act as the Liaison between the Club and the owner of all the Club’s practice and game fields.  The Fields Coordinator shall assume any other responsibilities and duties as directed by the Board.

Concessions Coordinator
The Concessions Coordinator shall oversee the keeping of a detailed record of all activities and transactions associated with the club concession stand.  The Concessions Coordinator shall order, inventory, and maintain all supplies associated with the club concession stand.

The Concessions Coordinator shall work with the Board of Directors, financial committee, and budget committee to audio all financial activities on a periodic basis.  The Concessions Coordinator shall oversee the preparation of a monthly financial statement for distribution to the Board of Directors.  This shall accompany the meeting agenda for the regularly scheduled monthly meeting.

Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator shall be responsible for recruiting, training and overseeing all volunteers who may be used from time to time to aid in the administration, operation or any other task that the Board may deem necessary in the daily operation of B.A.S.A.

Travel Team Coordinator
The Travel Team Coordinator shall oversee the activities of all the Travel Teams, act as the liaison for the Club with the Travel Teams and League, and assume any other responsibilities and duties as directed by the board.  The Travel Teams Coordinator will oversee the player tryouts for all the Travel Teams.

Classic League/Equipment Coordinator
The Classic League/Equipment Coordinator shall oversee the activities of all the Classic League Teams, act as the liaison for the Club with the Classic League, and assume any other responsibilities and duties as directed by the Board.  The Classic League Coordinator shall chair the Classic League Committee, be a member of the Rules, Appeals and Discipline Committee, and oversee the player tryouts for all the Classic Teams.  In addition to these duties, the Classic League/Equipment Coordinator shall be responsible for all equipment used by both in-house and travel teams as directed by the board.

Blackhawk Area Soccer Boosters

In a spirit of cooperation, BASA has agreed to a request from the soccer boosters to add this page to our website. The purpose of this page is to give those who need them access to handouts used by the boosters for varying fundraising activities. The funds raised will be used to help the Blackhawk Middle School and High School soccer teams. These handouts will be posted as they become available.

FALL SIGN-UPS

Final fall registration will be held on July 23 and July 30 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the soccer fields behind the Highland Middle School. We were going to have it at the High School but apparently we could not get a place to do it there. Please pass this information along to anyone you know that may not have signed up yet.
