Kickin' With BASA

Posted by Mary Shontz at Apr 22, 2005 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
BASA Board Members Needed There will be several openings on the BASA Board as of June 2005. Here is a list of the positions that will be open: President, Vice President, Secretary, Registrar, Referee Coordinator, Coaching Coordinator, Travel Coordinator, Fields Coordinator, Concession Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and Classic Coordinator. A copy of the BASA Constitution will be posted on the information board. The constitution will contain a brief description of the position and the responsibilities of each position. If you are interested, please see or call Mary Shontz (724) 843-1269 or see one of the other board members for more information. All interested parties will be placed on the ballot of nominees and will be voted on at the General Meeting. The date and time of the meeting will be announced later in the season. Please watch the newsletter for date, time & location. Children’s Safety There have been reports from referee’s, board members, and coaches that some players and children have been hanging on the goals and nets. This has been happening during the week at practice and on Saturday’s. Parents and coaches PLEASE let your child and players know the dangers of hanging on the goals. Even though the goals have been staked to the ground, they are very heavy and can tip over easily. There have been several cases of sever injuries and even deaths reported around the country from children hanging on or tipping goals. We want the children to enjoy soccer and have fun, so please help us by letting the children know that the goals and the nets are not to be climbed on, hung on, or played with. Thank You. NO PARKING !! BASA places cones or other barriers up on Saturday on the side of the school so that NO cars, vans, or trucks park behind the school. This is done for the safety of the children. Please do not move, go around or run over the cones or barriers. There are only 2 exceptions to the rule; 1. If someone is handicapped and need to park close to fields, 2. The Concession Coordinator needs her vehicle in the back to unload items. Please DO NOT Park in the grass during practice or on Saturdays. There are plenty of parking spaces in the front of the school. Please use them! BASA Web Site BASA’s web site is getting better and better. Please take time to look at all of the wonderful information that it contains. There are In-house schedules, Travel schedules, practice field schedules, newsletter, and cancellation information –when necessary. The web address is www.eteamz.com/basa. Coaches & Parents: Please help if you’re the last game of the day! If your are a coach or parent that has a team or child that plays the last game on Saturday, please stay and help clean up the team area. The drink containers, first aid kits, and crates need to be taken to the equipment shed and the trash needs to be emptied and the trash can placed by the concession stand. We would appreciate you help. Parents: Please bring water for your player Parents, please make sure that your child has a filled water bottle for every practice and game. Water is important nutrient for your body, especially during physical activity. Please make sure your child is well hydrated before and during the game!!!

Emergency Telephone Number!

Posted by Mary Shontz at Feb 9, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
In an effort to keep our costs down, we puchase a phone plan at the beginning of each season so that we do not have to pay a monthly bill. We will be activating this phone by April 1, 2005. We will let you know what the number is when we get it.

What is the cost?

Posted by Bradley Herr at Feb 8, 2005 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The current registration fee for in-house soccer is $35.00. Uniforms are $20.00. This includes a reversible jersey and one pair of socks. Shin guards are also available for $5.00. These are re-usable until they wear out or are outgrown. You are responsible to obtain a pair of black shorts on your own. It is also recommended that your child have his own soccer ball of the appropriate size. Ages U6 to U8 use a #3 size ball. U10 to U13 use a size #4 ball.
