KICKIN’ WITH B.A.S.A. Attention Coaches!! On Tuesday, Sept. 9th, the BASA Board proposed and passed an amendment to the Rules&Regulations. The new regulation is: If a team has enough players to field a starting team, plus two substitutions, they may not solicit other players for the game. For the different age groups it would be as follows: U6- 5 players, do not recruit other players. U8-7 players, do not recruit other players. U10- 8 players,do not recruit other players. U13 Girls- 8 players, do not recruit other players. U13 Boys- 10 players, do not recruit other players. Teams can only recruit other players if they do not have a starting team number needed and two substitutes. If you only have a starting team and zero or 1 substitute you may recruit other player(s) so that you have a total of 2 substitutes for the game. However, these recruited players are to be used only as substitutions for the starting team in the case of injury, or if starting player needs a break. No Practices At Highland Fields! There will be “NO” practices on the Highland Middle School Soccer Fields on Wed., Sept. 17th and Thurs., Oct. 2nd . The Highland Middle School and Blackhawk Intermediate School will have their Open House on these nights and they will use all available parking. Game Information!! Listed below is information for each age level. It will contain the number of players used, the time of play, rules followed for each age group, and when substitutions may occur. Under 6 -3v3 with No Goalie -No Direct Kicks -No picking up the Ball other than a Throw In -4 -10 Minute Quarters, -Sub on the 5 Minutes. Under 8 -4v4 with a Goalie - No Direct Kicks - 4 - 12 Minute Quarters, - Sub on the Fly. - Referees to Notify around 6 Minutes. U10 & U13 Girls -5 v 5 and a Goalie -Direct Kicks -Offside -Sub on either Teams throw in, Goal kick or after a Goal. Under 13 Boys -7 v 7 and a Goalie -Direct Kicks -Offside -Sub on either Teams throw In, Goal Kick or after a Goal. Skills Practice For Coaches Too! The upcoming Skills Practice is not just for kids! We would like to see as many Coaches as possible attend. This is a good way to learn new drills and skills to teach your players. Also, you can pick up some new techniques for teaching. Please sign up at the small table to the right of the concession stand if you plan to attend. We hope to see you there! Skills Practice On Monday, Sept 15th at 6pm BASA will be sponsoring a Skills Practice provided by Girish Thakar and staff at the Highland Middle School Fields. There will be 3 age groups: U6 U8 U10&U13 This practice is free and open to all BASA players and will be held “in-addition to” regularly scheduled team practices. Anyone interested please sign up on the clipboards at the small table stationed to the right of the concession stand. This practice will be held weather permitting. Picnic & Trophies Scheduled B.A.S.A. has scheduled a picnic and trophy presentations for Sat., October 25th following the soccer games. Soccer players and their families are invited. Please plan to attend!! NO TROPHIES WILL BE AWARDED AT THE SOCCER FIELDS. The location and time of the picnic will be in an upcoming newsletter. Hmm,Hmm Good! Three times during the season the Concession Stand will be adding something “special” to the normal menu. On Sept. 20th the feature item will be “Sloppy Joe’s” for $1.50. Come on over and have a good lunch and help support B.A.S.A. It’s a win, win situation! B.A.S.A. Web Site Yes! BASA has a web site! Trash Removal For anyone that helps clean up and remove trash after the games please place all of the trash bags in the second dumpster up by the school that is not marked with a recycling symbol. Parents & Coaches If your child is scheduled to play a 3:00 PM game, please plan on staying just a few extra minutes after the game to help put equipment away and police the fields of litter.
