We were a little late getting up the new sign to replace the Jets old one after the Varsity won their 2010 Championship. But it was put up last Friday in time for Youth Night at the Bucks game and also the first home games at Buckeye this season. Not visible in this pic is the "Play Like A Jet, With SWAGGER" that is along the bottom. This sign and the Jags sign will be moved to the new fields when they are playable.
Former Jets Teammates Meet Up In Buckeye Opener

An interesting start to the 60th season of Buckeye football. For the first time we had seniors on both teams for the opening game of the season. Kyle Zacharyasz, Devin Cunningham and Ricky Monroe were all three teammates on the Jets and played Varsity together in 2007. Kyle was on JV 2004-2006 and Varsity 2007. Devin was on JV 2003-2006, and Varsity 2007. Ricky was on JV 2003-2005, then the Bucs Varsity in 2006 (no Jets Varsity that year) and Jets Varsity in 2007.
The Bucks came up very short last night losing 47-2 to the Cloverleaf Colts. Devin had an outstanding game for the Colts , he's pictured on the front of the Gazette sports page after rushing for 2 touchdowns and getting a pick for the third TD going in from 25 yards out. He rushed 15 times for 185 yards.
Kyle had 3 receptions for 45 yards and Ricky had 10 carries for 25 yards. We are proud of all the kids that begin with us and then play on Friday night. Here's looking forward to the Bucks reboudning next week as they travel to Canton South to take on the Wildcats.

The 2011 Golden Jet was awarded to Jacob Kohler for the Leadership, Pride, Effort, Dedication and Postive Football Attiude he has shown all season as a Jets Varsity player. Jake has been with the Jets for 6 seasons, beginning as a Flag player in 2006. He played with the JV squad for three years from 2007 through 2009. His last two seasons were with the Varsity Squad.
Congratulations on your award Jacob the Jets are proud of you!
Update: Jacob was a freshman on the Bucks 2013 team and got playing time on the JV Squad.
The 2011 Iron Jet Award went to David Maitland for the Heart, Toughness, Intensity and Desire he displayed all season as a member of the Jets Varsity. David is also a 6 year member of the Jets. He began his playing days with the Jets Flag in 2006 & 2007. He then moved to the Jets Pee Wee in 2008, the JV Squad in 2009. His last two seasons were with the Jets Varsity.
