Sorry Gents, I blew it!!!

Playing in 98 degree weather with 2 subs in the first half and 1 sub in the second half we gave it our all against the Reds with their 5 subs but we just fell short. A huge thanks to Drew for coming out to help us. The first half saw very choppy play by both teams, with no real chances. We had a few but could not convert. With about 15 to go in the first half, the Reds got chippy. What else would we expect. It carried over in the second half with some nasty play. We packed the midfield to try to hang on as we lost our legs. Then with 30 to go they send a throughball to the biggest pecker-Nick. He beat O'Neill and as he was going all alone on a breakaway I managed to catch up from behind and pull him on both shoulders. He took two steps and DOVE. Sorry Jonnie he did, ask O'Neill. However kudos to the pecker as he drew the PK and 1-0. With 15 to go Nick got in an all out war with Tommy Mc that saw them both get tossed with yellows eventually with under 10 minutes. We tried hard to create some chances but in the end we really could not muster anything. Harry-Ian-Cropper and Drew all played great.  However you have to hand it to the Reds. They played very physical, used their subs and stole the 3 points. Now we lost 2 in a row. Last time that happened was 3 years ago. Sorry boys!!!!!!!!! The game incredibly only saw 3 yellows where it could of been at least 6.

It took one year, but it had to happen!!!

Playing w/o McAndrew, Bradley, Tor, Mojo, Richie and Calamity and playing vs Celtic was going to be hard as we all knew. Compound the turnpike problem and we had late boddies coming in. Even so we started strong as our Assasin made a cameo and put us on top 1-0. However it was exactly one year ago when we threw a stinker vs Old Man Tommy an we waited for exactly one year later to do the same. We went flat the rest of the game, and they tilted the field. They scored 4 and BANG we went down for our first loss 4-1. The difference though this year is we are not running away with the title, we are running to catch up. Now we need an Al Michaels- we need a miracle. With 3 left, and I feel strange saying this, but our only loss of the season has made things way too tough.!!!!!!

The Foot of God!!!

Playing Old Man Tommy we needed a win just to keep pace. We have not lost all summer and our streak needs to continue. We started the game a bit sloppy and there was not much action by both teams. I know Tommy really wanted this one as he brought 18 guys with him. They have not beaten us in the last 6 outings. We once again had to play without Kevin and adding to our woes, Cropper and Ian were out. However with 5 left in the first half Richie spots Chris on a run down the left flank and Mr.Lynch left foots a volley and BANG 1-0. Half The second half saw us take over. 15 minutes in Tor who was incredible from 30 yards out rifles us to a 2-0 lead. We gained momentum and Super Greek Harry went on a break twice only to be stopped by the keeper. Of-course you know it, Jol comes down and bang 2-1. Here we go. Then the Foot of God. They win a corner. Ely who is a specialist takes it and it was perfect, drops in on the 6 they strike it past Calamity and Bradley stops it on the goal line and holds for us our 2-1 lead. Again we gain momentum back and again it's Tor who this time finds Richie and 3-1. They pressed which means they were exposed and Harry this time finds Rooney on a breakaway and 4-1. We hold , game match. !!! :)))))) Great stuff boys, we will await the other results. Enjoy but not for too long. We play the Reds next week, w/o Tor, Tommy Mc, Ben, and I think Bradley. Old Man Tommy swears it the yellow shirts that are throwing them off. LOL

BANG- we will not go away

Playing after a 2 week layoff in the mini derby of the week vs Steve's Greens, and playing without two of our stars, Harry and Kevin, and without our General-O'Neill, we will not go away and make this easy for Columbia. The game was ours from the start and we controlled the game and all the chances. Richie, JR and our new signing this year Cropper with 2 started the fireworks that could of been even more. Ben missed a sitter-open net, and 3 PK misses, 1 by Richie and 2 by Mojo on a retake, LOL. Our 4-0 win was huge. It probably puts the Greens out of their misery. It was a great performance , a typical Rose Tree FC performance. This could have huge implications on the table as we await the results of the derby between Celtic and the Reds. Too bad Columbia is playing the worse team T6, let's cross our fingers for a huge upset. Great futbol by the Yellow Machine, great stuff!!!!!!!!

Huge win

Going to a bye week we played West Montgomery Orange. They were short a man and Kyle was a good lad and agreed to play for them. We wanted to play strong heading into a mandatory bye week for all teams. Strong we played. Led by a real strong midfield (Crop-Harry-Ian-Tor-Mojo) we controlled the entire game and finally got some goals to show for it. The first was a beautiful over the top ball by Crop to Ian and he headed it in. The second was Crop again on a throughball to Tor and he placed it bottom left corner and 2-0. Half The second half featured the Harry show. Playing Never on Sunday melody he tip-toed through 4 guys and placed this beautiful left foot strike top right corner 3-0. Orange got a bizarre goal back on an indirect 8 yards from goal. The 4th goal came off a beautiful Mojo corner to Ian, he headed it to Roons and 4-1. We could of had a 5th but Cropper shamelessly did not pass to Rooney as he was wide open. instead he passes to under-performer Mojo who didn't even get a shot. Most comical was Cropper trying to talk Greek to Harry. Poor Harry. 4-1 it ends, and we stay without a loss 2-0-2. I will await other scores. Great futbol all!!!!!!
