Saturday we had our huge derby with Celtic. We knew we were in a dogfight with two games left. Right before our game, Old Man Tommy did the unthinkable, they beat the Commish's Reds by 1 goal. they waited all season and pulled their best effort. Both us and Celtic knew the implications this would have in the standings. The first half was played real cautious, and ended 0-0. Then all the fireworks started. First the game got very testy, as Kevin and one Celtic player almost got in all out brawl, then Jim Nicolardi (one of the dirtiest players, for those that played with him in Pott's league know this) started hacking Ian to promt our gentelmanly player to have enough. However while all this was going on, our super-sniper, Bavarian Bjoern decided he was going to pop a hat trick in. (too bad SAP America does not cooperate with us and makes this lad travel). Kevin added one and 4-1 we take all 3 points. Now we are completly in the driver seat with 1 game left. However the last weekend here is the skinny. If Celtic beats Old Man Tommy then we need a WIN for the championship. If Celtic ties, or loses then as long as we don't lose by more than 5 goals we win the whole thing. We will know this as they play before us. I suspect they will win , which forces us to a must win our last game. Great stuff guys.

Tor and Jonnie stepped in to help our under-manned team, a huge thank you, and Kevin and Bjoern led the way in another blowout of Old Man Tommy 4-1 and it should of been more. Kevin's hat trick and Bjoern goal and wide flank play along with our control of the mid-field thanks to Tor, Richie, Ian, JR and all the lads helped us control the entire game and create many chances. However we did a great job playing wide the entire game and really spreading the field. Great job by all. Celtic did all a favor and gave the Commish's Reds a loss 4-2 and now we are all bunched up. We win our final 2 and we win the whole thing. We control our own destiny. Standings will follow, great futbol boys, great stuff.

It has become an epidemic. We continue to miss chances and I mean chances every game and now it is costing us points. We played the Commish's perfect team and we had a chance to close the gap. We out-played them out-chanced them but could not finish them. They jumped to an early 1-0 lead, however we pressed and off an Aaron special (throw in ) to his brother we tied it 1-1. Then we tilted the field only to miss chance after chance after chance. Bjoern and Kevin were un-stopable up front. We could not finish. the second half was more of the same, only this time yours truly spots Kevin and we jumped to a 2-1 lead. However a goal from the 18 tied the game 2-2. We again pressed and pressed and we did not get 2 big calls. A hand ball in the box and on a semi-breakaway a take down on Kevin in the box. Game ended level 2-2. BIG SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a bright bright bright side, Bjoern was back from his knee injury and looked real real good. Also I can't stress enough how well our D has been playing. Too bad the rest of us up front can not give them more offensive support. another big SIGH!!!!!!

We got smashed. Playing Celtic, we opened up the game with only 10 players. Injuries and some late comers forced us to open with 10. Celtic was a class act and they played with 10 until we got 11. Bravo. The first 20 minutes it looked like we once again would run away with a W. Rich Carrol made his 1st appearance with us, and from the start we created many chances. Aaron who was snake-bitten all day hit 2 crossbars in the first half. Yours truly missed a chance from the 16 and once you start missing that many chances you know you are in trouble. Celtic is a very good team and pressed our D the whole game. Playing with only 2 subs they stressed the D way too much. Even so the game was 0-0 at the half. However the second half, Celtic got 2 goals in the first 25 minutes. We pressed and missed 2 more sitters. While pressing they got a 3rd goal for a 3-0 win. The 3rd goal hurts as our goal differential went down. Oh well. In the other game the Commish stayed perfect with a 4-2 win. Now we are in a dogfight. Standings will follow. We need a huge W next week playing the Commish's 1st place team. OLE.

Putting our back to back titles on the line we open up a new TEASA season with our snazzy yellow and blue DB jerseys. Playing without O'Neil, Rich C, Bjoern, JR and Bradley we opened up with Old Man Tommy and the crew. From the opening whistle in a 30 degree night we took control and never looked back. led by our assasin, Kevin (3), Dougie, Richie, Ian, Aaron we popped 7 in and missed probably another 3 in a 7-2 victory. The nicest goal of the night was between Ian's 25 yard strike and Richie's 18 yard strike. Both were awesome. Aaron of course was the man in the midldle and Richie was O'Neil for the night. Mojo and Kevin never stopped running and the rest fell in place. The lads all played well. Great opening game, great stuff. Now as always I worry. Celtic who played the Comish Reds after us are Loaded. They picked up 6 guys and have a very powerful lineup. The Commish merged his team with team 2. We will have our hands full. Next Saturday we go at 9:00 am sharp. thanks for great futbol guys. Great stuff.
