Revenge on Azteca, Double on the Mustangs

We ended the season with a Double. Our first game was against Azteca as the Mexican Nationals thought they were going to have an easy night. However they had to play us a full 40 minutes and we were relentless tonight, and revenged our first game loss to them in a clear loud way 10-5. Once again we were led by the Assasin, however the first game belonged to Ian and Marty who really took away Azteca's play. Once we dispatched Azteca the Mustangs came to play us. We did start out a bit slow playing back to back but we setteld down and Crop took over and the lads came from behind for a 6-3 double sweep tonight. Great Futbol by everyone, Tuesday the playoff marathon begins. We will introduce the 3-1-1 and hang on. Great job boys!!!!!!! Goal of the night of-course belongs to the Assassin on a set piece, with Rooney just lifting the ball over the wall and Kevin heading it in.

Our first Loss a Good Ole Ass Kicking

We played a fusion team,  Allienz France and Espana teamed up and formed FC Jose. They are basically 80% French kids and 20% from Spain. Seriously!!!! They were incredible, avg age @22 and they were ready to play. Yes we kept it close for a while. Went down 3-0, made it 3-1, made it 3-2. However what made FC Jose different than Azteca was their commitment to defense. They always had 3 guys back, always attacked the ball and always marked their man. We tried to tie, ran out of steam and they pounded us for a final of 8-2.

The first week games since it was a sheduling snafu all teams were given ties, so this brings our record now to 2-1-2 for 8 points. Dougie we let you down my brother!!!!!

Well we didn't win but we didn't lose either. RTFC got great performances last night by the Assassin, Superman and Marty along with Calamity and we escaped with a 7-7 tie.It was disappointing as they only had 1 sub, however we kept falling behing in the came and tried to play catch up. They also did a good job playing keepaway when they took the lead as they knew they will not have the legs to play with us. In the end it was a well deserved tie for both teams.At times the lads up front did not help the D enough, as Ian, Owen, Richie and Kyle did an incredible job holding. Rooney was a huge let down also as he had 3 chances go wasted.

Dougie, the Assasin and Cropper

Playing the C League champs 5 and 10 who made the jump to the big leagues, FC would have their hands, pockets, shirts full. A hockey game broke out. 5 and 10 are older guys, who play the hockey style, over physical with lots of pushing and shoving. FC was led by a Nittimaki style performance by Dougie making 52 saves and yet another Assassin day by the Assassin as he popped in 3. Cropper led the defensive charge against the big goon and the 3-2 victory was well deserved at 10:15 at night. The young ref tried to keep things under control as best he could. Great Job by all fellows, way to go!!!!!

1ST WIN AT ROCKET

Rose Tree FC played ING Direct in a Yellow-Orange classic. Playing w/o Superman (Tor) , pressure was on Marty as he had to control the middle. The Assasin was there and no matter the venue, the net size, you know what comes up next. YES the Assasin led the way with 5 goals, Rooney complimented with 1 , Ian and Torch with 1 and Ian led the D to a 8-7 win. Have to hand it to ING as everytime Rose Tree took a 2-3 goal lead they would come back. The game featured Ian at his best on D and Calamity mades some huge saves to preserve the win. Before the game ING was overheard telling themslves "we are playing those old guys"!!!! OUCH, but here are 8 old goals. Great win lads keep it up.  Richie, Big Ben and Kyle matched Ian on D and helped these old guys take the points. Happy New Year!!!!!!!!
