Yes Cropper you are correct, yours truly let everyone down!!!!!! Last night we had our first real Futsal game, after last week's tryouts where everyone got a tie. We played Chris Fulber's team, (for those that don't know Chris, he actually played some for the Scottish National Futsal team). We lost the first half 4-0. Tor, Kevin, Ben and myself, this was our first game. We finally got our act together, won the second half 4-2, but lost the game 6-4. We should of tied. Consider, Cropper hit the bar twice, Kevin and Tor hit the stickin bar once each and yes I missed 5 chances. What a disgrace. Oh well, got to get them next week. Watching the first game the team to beat is actually Sun Valley Crew (they are high school kids and they look real good). Sorry fellows, this loss was on me, Crop is correct!!!!!!!

Futsal Opens Up!!!!!

Posted by Paul Gio at Feb 26, 2007 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Last night Rose Tree FC opened up Futsal at TSS. We played without our two snipers Tor and Kevin. Ben and yours truly were also MIA's due to illness. Cropper, Ian, Mojo-Joe and JR did their best to carry us offensively, while Helner, O'Neill, Richie and Jimmy played D. We fell a bit short, 8-6. We will make changes as we played a 2-2 and a keeper. We will shift to a diamond 1-2-1 and a keeper, so to keep pace with all the young bucks. We are the oldest team by far, and we hope we can give them a run. Next week should be a better week as we get our snipers back.

PERFECT!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Paul Gio at Nov 18, 2006 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
We ended the season the same way we started, PERFECT!!! We played Celtic (Internationals) in our last game. We were a bit flat, as we knew we had our second straight championship, unless we would lose 10-0. As flat as we were at points, we also proved that we have the best counter-attack in the business, as our Assasin, Kevin led the way to a 2-1 victory. This was also Calamity's best game as he seemed full of confidence and challenged the ball real well. Kudos to the defense which was solid all season and to the middies who showed discipline and came back to help the Defense. On a very cold aftrenoon, awesome futbol weather, Celtic really wanted to win and hand us at least one loss, however their best and our mediocre was not enough for them to ruin our perfect season, day and it resulted on our second straight tiltle. Great jobs Boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Derby- No MAS No MAs No Mas

Posted by Paul Gio at Nov 5, 2006 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
In our biggest game of the season we finally got to play the Internationals in the Fall Derby. However they caught us on a day that we were going to be perfect. Led by goals from Kevin, Ian, JR, Tor, O"Neill, Rich, Doug, we exploded in a 7-2 victory. We should have had 3 more, as we made some free kick blunders. This won't happen again, as we will spend all of our practice time on this. LOL Winterle came up big for us stopping a PK, and our super middies, (best midfield) in the TEASA hands down, locked the International midfield and held. We are 6 point clear now and are heading for a second title in a row. Great job boys and perfect football by all. Super thanks to Ben and Ian for Captain-ing the team. Sidebar thanks to Dougie who drove all the way from New York to play this game.

Two for Two

Posted by Paul Gio at Oct 14, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Despite a huge layoff due to a bye week and weather, we returned to action vs the Comish's Red Army for our second game. We had 13 guys and started out very rusty and slow as the layoff showed. Our D was strong, and stayed strong the whole game, but out timing, our runs and passes were a bit off. We did catch a break in the 18th minute as Richie send a long pass down the right flank to yours truly. JR saw a huge opening in the middle and made a run. He called for the ball and received it and touched a beautiful through ball to the assasin, Kevin, who does not miss (you hear that IAN) and bang 1-0. The 25 th minute saw a huge scramble in their box. On a throughball touch pass, Ian found himslef one v one the left side with their goalie, and shot wide. Ouch!!!! Exactly 3 minutes later yours truly and no left leg, made a move to shoot with that left and clanked it of the crossbar. Again ouch!!! The last play of the half, had Dougie take a great corner kick, off my head off Tor's head and then just shot wide. Half 1-0 We needed to get our offense in gear. However the second half started the same way. Ian again found himself one v one with the goalie thanks to JR and Richie only to miss. Finally in the 55th minute Ian blasted a left foot 18 yarder in the corner, 2-0. That seemed to relax us, and the rest of the game was ours. We did have to fend them off for a 8 minute window, but a glorious run by Kevin found JR who found myself who touched it off to Richie on the 18, who does not miss (you hear that IAN) and 3-0. We capped our day off with Kevin making a couple of moves and going on a breakaway and then passing to a wide open IAN, and beleive it he did not miss, 4-0. Great win, 2-0-0 now!!! great job guys!!!! The D was great Kyle, Bradely, O'Neill, Ben, Brian, Tor, great Job. Calamity James playing sick made 3 great saves in that 8 minute window to keep the shutout. bye week next week, then 2 weeks in a row!!!!!
