The start of our Fall 2003 season has begun. Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Sept.6th the fields at 20th Street Community Park were once again filled with approximately 1500 youth players throughout the day. The CYSL board is looking forward to another great season and will be available at the gazebos on the fields. We encourage all parents to stop by and say hi.

Registration is held in advance to allow adequate time for uniform orders, coach and sponsor recruitment, processing rosters and scheduling. All players registering during registration week are guaranteed placement on a team. In the past, in agreement with and as a courtesy to CYSL, parents have been allowed to register at the CARD office after the registration week. This is not only an inconvenience to CARD staff who are conducting registration for their own programs, it also creates confusion for parents and additional work for the league. AFTER REGISTRATION WEEK PARENTS WILL NEED TO CONTACT THE LEAGUE at 894-1088 and if space is available on a team in the appropriate age division, parents will be mailed a registration packet. If no space is available the child will be placed on a waiting list and may not be placed on a team until the 2nd or 3rd game as a space become available.

An additional date has been set to register for the 2003 Fall Soccer Season on Saturday, August 9th at Fit One Athletic Club, Skyway and Notre Dame Blvd. from 10:00am - 4:00pm. All players new to the league must register in person during registration week and provide proof of birthdate. Registration is being accepted for boys and girls ages 5-14 as of December 31, 2003. The games for the Fall Season will be played beginning Saturday, September 6, 2003 and will continue through Saturday, November 1, 2003. All games are played at 20th Street Community Park.

This year there will be no returns of chocolates at the end of the sale. Each family made the decision at the time of registration whether or not they would be participating in this Spring's fund raiser. All candy received by players, including their original box and any additional boxes picked up, must be completely sold. The league will NOT be accepting ANY returns. Turn in all fund raising money to your coaches by March 1st. Select a prize from the list and give this information to your team coach. If a prize is earned but not selected by a player a soccer ball we be awarded as a default prize. All money must be turned in by March 1st to be eligible for any award as the prizes need to be ordered at this time so that they can be delivered to CYSL by our final game. The prize for our top seller this year will be a bicycle for the seller and a getaway package for the sellers parents. Good luck to all!
