RULES OF PLAY

STANDARD OF PLAY:
All games sanctioned by this league shall be played in accordance with the "Laws of the Game" as published by USSF and these Local Rules of Competition.

LENGTH OF GAME:
U6,U7,U8       Four 10 minute quarters
U9, U10          Four 12 minute quarters
U11,U12,U14   Two 30 minute halves

BALL SIZE:
U6,U7,U8       Number 3
U9,U10            Number 4
U11,U12,U14   Number 5

It is recommended that names and phone numbers be written on balls so they can be returned if lost.

UNIFORMS:

Uniforms consist of a T-shirt, colored socks to match the shirt and ALL WHITE shorts. The T-shirts are provided by the league and will be distributed by the coach before the first game. Socks and ALL WHITE shorts are to be purchased by the parent prior to the first game. Shin guards are REQUIRED during all practices and the games and need to be also purchased by parents. Soccer shoes or turf shoes are recommended. No metal cleats or toe cleats are allowed (toe cleats on baseball shoes can be cut off by the parents).

Players wearing different colored shorts or socks that are a different color than the uniform shirt, will not be allowed to participate in the game.

CYSL

Chico Youth Soccer League (CYSL) was founded in 1973 with 254 boys and girls participating. CYSL now offers a Spring and Fall Season and has over 4000 youth, ages 5-14, participating in either the Spring or Fall program. CYSL is for boys and girls in the U6 - 14&U age divisions.

Final Walk-in Registration for Spring 2007

Chico Youth Soccer League will hold a final walk-in registration for spring soccer, Saturday, January 6th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Fit One Athletic Club located at Skyway and Notre Dame Blvd. Openings are available for boys and girls born in the years 1993-2002. This will be the final walk-in registration for the season. Registration will continue by mail after January 6th on a first come first serve basis. Registration packets may be picked up at Play It Again Sports, North Valley Soccer Shop, Team Sports and CARD. Registration fees are $35 per player who want to participate in the fundraiser (selling chocolate bars) and $60 for those who do not to participate in the fundraiser. Forms should be mailed to the league at P.O. Box 1537, Chico, CA 95927. The league still has coaching positions available. A free coaches clinic is offered for beginning and advanced coaches. Coaches may sign up for the clinics at the coaches meeting. The leagues has need of referees. Those interested should see the referee page of this website. FALL REGISTRATION

Chico Youth Soccer League is currently accepting registration for Fall Soccer. Registration is for boys and girls born in the years 1992-2001. Fees are $35 per player for those who choose to participate in the fundraiser or $60 to not participate in the fundraiser. (After August 1st, fee will be $60 for all participants.) Registration packets are available at the CARD office on Vallombrosa Avenue, North Valley Soccer Shop (Whitman Avenue), Play It Again Sports (Whitman Avenue), or Team Sports (across from In Motion Fitness). Applications should be mailed to the league at CYSL, P.O. Box 1537, Chico, CA 95927. League play will begin Saturday, September 9th and continue through November 4th. All games are played on Saturday at 20th Street Community Park. The league is also recruiting coaches, referees and team sponsors. Sign ups and information will be available at registration. HOW DOES THE WAITING LIST WORK?

Registration will be accepted as long as space is available. If there is no space available the child will be placed on a waiting list. When space becomes available the first child on the waiting list will go to the team that is short a player. COACHES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO RECRUIT PLAYERS. Roster checks may be conducted periodically throughout the season.
