Rain-out Policy

Posted by Valerie Borski at Apr 8, 2002 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Abbreviated Rain Out Policy On the day in question, the League Officer on call or their designee, will go to the field two hours prior to the first game scheduled to check on the condition of the field. The decision is then made on whether or not the games will be played. If the weather is questionable enough for the League Officer to check on the field then their findings should be noted on Kyle Chapman’s answering machine’s/callnote’s greeting. Managers, players and parents can call
(713) 271-0203 to obtain rainout information. The person who declares the rainout should inform all of the team’s managers.

Kyle Chapman Pony League

Posted by Valerie Borski at Apr 1, 2002 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
The League was founded in 1965 and is comprised of both Major and Minor league teams. Our League is named for Kyle Chapman, the County Commissioner when Bayland Park was built. Kyle Chapman spearheaded the effort to fill the park with sports fields. In the fall of 2001, we added a level of select baseball to our existing organization. With this addition to the KC program, the League strives to maintain a program for those 13 and 14 year olds who seek the highest level of competition in their preparation for high school and college baseball. Our program provides a long and successful tradition of competitive baseball for players from the 6 area Little Leagues. A large percentage of our graduates go on to play High School Baseball and we have also seen over 20 of our player's go on to play for Major League Baseball teams, including: Jose Cruz Jr., Greg Swindell and Chuck Knoblauch. image
