KC 14's at Katy Freeway - Director's Tournament:The Kyle Chapman 14-Year old team played their first Director's Tournament game Saturday night and defeated host Katy Freeway 10-0 in a game shortened to 5 innings by the 10-run rule. Jeremy Gould and Ray Redding combined to pitch the shutout for KC. KC will play again today at 6:30 PM at the Katy Freeway Field. This tournament is single elimination with the tournament winner advancing to the finals in Baytown. Directions to Katy Freeway Field: From 610 and Katy Freeway, go west. Take the Campbell Road exit and to right. The second light after you turn right is Westview. Go right on Westview. Down about 3 blocks you will pass Spring Branch High School. The field is behind the high school.

KC 13's at League City - District Tournament: The KC 13's beat Galveston for the second time Wednesday night to win the District 2 title and advance to the Section 1 tournament in Baytown. Thats the good news. The bad news is that two key players were injured in the game. George Murphy suffered a severely bruised sternum in a collision at the plate, and Karl Pringle was hit by a pitch on his throwing hand while batting. George is in a lot of pain, but has no broken bones or internal injuries. KC's pitchers continue to do an excellent job and allowed only two runs. Brett Gibson pitched three innings, Alex Cernoch pitched two, and Daniel Rothenberg and Beau Faulk each pitched one inning. KC continued to be strong at the plate with timely hitting. Brett Gibson's single gave KC a 3-1 lead they never relinquished. Mark Robichau had a two run home run, and Andrew Espinosa and Aaron Dushkin contributed key pinch hits. In the three games played at this tournament, KC had three home runs, all by different hitters.
