Dave's defeats Printworld 13-2

Dave’s Marketplace made it 3 wins in a row against the young Printworld team outscoring them 13-2 over 5 innings boosting Dave’s record to 12-2, and dropping Printworld’s to 2-12. Printworld drew first blood in the top of the 1st scoring 2 runs off of walks to Brandon Fain and Ryan Smith, and a 2 RBI double for Tanner Lindsay. Dave’s turned the tables in a big way in the bottom of the 1st with 8 runs, and boosted by a 3 run home run by Timmy Lynch. Lynch also added a 2 run double, a walk, and 3 runs scored. Other top hitters for Dave’s were Peter Webber who went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, Ryan Gwaltney who went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored, Brian Farrell went 1 for 1 with 2 runs scored, and Ryan Nabb who got a 2 RBI base hit. Not to go unrecognized was the strong pitching by 4 of Dave’s pitchers, who combined to allow only 1 hit over 5 innings. Those pitchers were Zach Sullivan, Brian Farrell, Ryan Nabb, and Peter Webber.

GAME SUMMARY:

 

Elmwood improved its record to 7-6 behind outstanding pitching performances by Matt Boelter and Cam Moniz.  Boelter logged four complete innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits and recorded five strikeouts in a no decision effort.  Chris Lenox pitched an outstanding game for Allie’s, allowing two earned runs on four hits and recorded ten strikeouts over five complete innings and also earned no decision.  Elmwood opened the game with a single by Cam Moniz who eventually came around to score following a two base throwing error by Allie’s.  Allie’s scored one run in the bottom of the first when Matt Pazienza reached on an error and was later driven in on a single by AJ Bucci to even the score at 1-1.  Boelter and Lenox then sat the opposing lineups down in order until the top of the fourth inning when Elmwood scored twice.  A one out single by Moniz, followed by a stolen base and an RBI single by Danny Hayden put Elmwood ahead 2-1.  Matt Gauthier then reached on an error and Tyler Carter’s two out RBI single plated Hayden to bring Elmwood’s lead to 3-1.  Allie’s fought back to take the lead in the bottom of the fifth when Lenox drew a lead-off walk, followed by an error and a bases clearing double by Zack Lynch evened the score at 3-3.  Cam Moniz came on to pitch for Elmwood and struck out three consecutive batters, but not before Lynch scored on consecutive past balls giving Allie’s the 4-3 lead after five innings.  Elmwood scored nine runs in the top of the sixth inning following back to back walks to Jake Ruhling and Zack Quarella and four base hits.  Hayden singled driving in two runs, Matt Gauthier singled driving in one run, Travis Sampson doubled driving in two runs and Liam Darcy doubled plating Elmwood’s twelfth and final run of the game.  Moniz closed the game with two strikeouts in the bottom of the sixth and earned his second win of the season.

Dave's Marketplace defeats Bailey's 5-2

Dave’s Marketplace avenged a loss earlier in the season to Baileys by beating them 5-2 in a well played game by both teams. Ryan Gwaltney pitched a terrific game for Dave’s scattering 4 Bailey’s hits, striking out 6, and walking only 2 batters over 6 innings.

Dave’s top hitters were Timmy Lynch who went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI’s and Jimmy Moan who had a clutch double in the 3rd inning. Bailey’s top hitters were Steven Santos and Alex Bedard who both got doubles. Joe Craven and Jacob Eland pitched well for Baileys.

Game Summary: For the first 2 ½ innings, Wilson’s Remy Leduc and Junior Police’s Nic Mungeon were throwing extremely well with JP getting a single run in the 2nd Inning on a ground out, a walk, a steal of second, a pop out, a steal of third, a walk, a passed ball and a ground out.  Wilson’s finally solved Nic in the bottom of the 3rd when they scored 6 runs on strike out, 2 walks, a single, a 2 run double, a walk, a RBI single a 2 run double and a pass ball.  Nic was replaced by Tyler Chabot who got the final 2 outs.  Remy got out of the 4th by leaving runners on 2nd and 3rd.  Wilson’s got their final 8 runs on a single, RBI double, walk, pop out, walk to load the bases, 2 RBI single, 2 RBI double, RBI single and a 2 run Homer by Casey.  Cam Lamarre relieved Tyler and got the last 2 outs.  In the top of the 5th, Evan relieved Remy and struck out the first 2 batters but lost the strike zone and walked the next 3 batters to load them up.  Patrick relieved Evan and threw 1 pitch to get a grounder to end the game.     

 

Dave’s Marketplace benefited from a solid pitching performance by Timmy Lynch, a 14 hit offensive attack, and a zero error defensive performance in route to an impressive 11-1 victory over Elmwood Sports. Lynch pitched a complete game while allowing only 5 hits, struck out 6, and offered zero walks over 5 innings to hold Elmwood to a lone run in the 1st inning. Offensive stars for Dave’s were Chris Guenev who went 3 for 3, Brian Farrell who went 2 for 2, and Ryan Gwaltney who went 2 for 3.

 

Danny Hayden had a great game at the plate for Elmwood Sports getting a triple and a double, and Matt Gauthier knocked in their only run with a base hit.
