GAME SUMMARY:

 

Elmwood evened its record at 5-5 behind an outstanding hitting performance and solid pitching. Elmwood scored 18 runs on 13 hits while playing some solid defense in the field.  Danny Hayden earned his third win of the season allowing three hits, one run and recording five strikeouts in two innings of work.  Matt Gauthier worked one inning in relief allowing four runs on no hits and recorded two strikeouts; and Matt Boelter closed the game out in outstanding fashion, recording two innings of work and allowing no runs, no hits and logging three strikeouts.  Elmwood jumped out to an early 4-0 lead following a lead-off double by Cam Moniz and three consecutive hits by Matt Boelter, Danny Hayden and Matt Gauthier.  Printworld responded with one run in the bottom of the first on a lead-off single by Ryan Smith and a line drive to right field, by Brandon Fain, landing just out of the reach of a hustling Jake Ruhling resulting in an RBI triple.  Elmwood scored seven more runs in the second, sending 13 batters to the plate, following three consecutive walks and four RBI hits by Hayden, Gauthier, Tyler Carter and Kris Richards.  Printworld fought back in the third inning scoring three runs on six walks.  Elmwood added two more runs in the fourth on two singles by Gauthier and Carter coupled with a fielder’s choice and an error at third base.  Elmwood added its final five runs in the top of the fifth inning following three walks, a base-clearing triple by Danny Hayden and an RBI single by Matt Gauthier to bring the score to 18-5.  Printworld’s chances ended in the fifth on a diving play in the hole at second base by Zack Quarella.

AAA Indians defeat the Cubs 11 to 5.

Michael Monti pitched a scoreless sixth inning and had a total of five RBIs, including a bases loaded triple, as the AAA Indians defeated the Cubs 11 to 5 Tuesday night.

Junior Police defeats Dave's 7-4

Hurteau hurls Junior Police past Dave's

Jarett Hurteau went the distance on 5/18 limiting league leading Dave's Market to 4 hits and 4 runs en route to a 7-4 JP win.Junior Police scored in 4 of 6 innings taking the lead for good in the 4th with 3 runs. JP's offense was led by Nic Mongeon and Sam Ostrowski who each had 2 hits while Chad Mansolillo,Tyler Chabot, Jarett Hurteau and Bobby Daly each had one. Daly's hit was a solo blast in the 6th for his first homer of the season. Daly and Trevor Huntington also provided JP with some sparkling defensive plays. Dave's offense was led by Chris Guenev,Tim Lynch,Alex Smith and Matt Viens. The win puts Junior Police at 7wins 3 loses, 1 game behind league leading Dave's.
