Shelbyville tennis gets its first win of season

The Lady Golden Bears (1-2) swept both doubles matches and added singles victories from Jordan Wise and Monica Cooper.
Waldron (2-1), potentially the strongest county program this season and sectional title contender at Shelbyville, collected its lone win at No. 1 singles when Brittany Elliott outlasted Emily Blain, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 12-10.
Shelbyville’s doubles teams were pairing for the first time this season.
Lux’s former playing partner, Maddie Clark, joined with Meghan Thornburg to get a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles over Leanna Harker and Kelly Dalley.
Wise became the first Shelby County player to win three matches this season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Mary Laird at No. 2 singles. Wise is now 3-2 this year.
Monica Cooper defeated Lauren Suiter, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles
