Thank You Field Work Day Volunteers!

The Board of Directors would like to thank all the Niles-Centerville Little League volunteers who braved the cold weather to help get our fields ready for what is looking to be another fantastic season of baseball.  It was truly a great sight to see the number of individuals dispersed throughout the fields.  Your efforts were truly appreciated and recognized.  Special thanks to Herman Bechart for grading the fields with his tractor, and to Tina Hobbs for donating the debris container.

Thank You!

The Niles-Centerville Little League Board of Directors would like to thank California District 14 for hosting the 2011 Western Region Umpire Outreach Clinic Feb 11-13.  A big thank you goes to all Western Regional Instructors, District 14 Umpire Instructors and all volunteers who contributed to the success of this clinic.

New Angels Page

The NCLL Angel Program

In 2008, the Banducci Family made a large donation to the league in honor of their late husband & father Pete Banducci.  He was tragically stricken with the disease ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), more commonly referred to as “Lou Gerhig’s Disease”.

Due in large part to this generous contribution, NCLL was able build our batting cages.  The idea for this contribution came from Pete himself, as he wanted to provide a way for his family to give their support to the league they so loved and enjoyed.

To honor the generosity of Pete and the Banducci Family, NCLL made a donation to Ride for Life
www.rideforlife.com, an organization that raises money, assists in ALS research for finding a cure, and supports families that have been touched by this horrible disease.  With this donation, Ride for Life supplied us with Angel Pins.

We will be giving these Angel Pins to people in NCLL who display extra effort or show special compassion here during the season. This will be a way for us to celebrate the volunteer spirit that NCLL is known for, and allow us to honor Pete as the very special person who stepped up in such a big way for all the players who play in this league.

Nominate your special NCLL Angel Today!

Look for the Angel Nomination Box in the Snack Shack and nominate someone you think displays extra effort or shows special compassion during the season.  From these nominations, the NCLL Angel Recipients Committee will review the nominees and select those individuals whose actions demonstrate the spirit of the NCLL Angel Program.  NCLL Angels will receive an Angel Pin, be recognized on the NCLL website and will be added to the list of NCLL Angels on the bulletin board by the Snack Shack with a description of why they were selected.
