Old Business: Uniforms/Equipment: Karla reported no progress. Dave Mayer will track down the missing Jr. jerseys and equipment. Cindy reported that no progress was made in getting Chevy’s to remit the money from the fundraiser. They had offered to pay us $200 since no records were found but we were given the run-around when asking about the money. Mark will check into it. New Business: By-Laws have been completed and everyone should receive a copy at sign-ups. Registration dates for the 2005 season given. More volunteers needed, most slots filled. Returning manager letters have been sent out, applications due November 5th. Major division will have no redraft so property player letters need to be sent out. Deadline for registration is December 3. Tryout dates were given as January 7 and 8, and January 14 and 15 – same times as last year. Season schedule was given as Opening day: March 11, closing day: June 17, Tournament play begins: June 18. Moira will meet with player agents regarding the number of teams and team names for 2006 season. There was a discussion of having one week of buffer to reschedule games this year as opposed to two weeks like last year. This was in order to have one weekend at spring break off. It was decided that we would start the season on March 4th and have closing day on June 10th in order to accommodate a spring break. Minor A will again have an open lineup for the first half of the season. Karla said that we wouldn’t need to order much new equipment. Neal said that the track should be finished at the end of October. Rich got the school to move its location. T-Ball field now has a dirt infield. Neal is working on the problems with the houses at the major field. He is also getting quotes on batting cages. Need submissions to the newsletter by the 26th of October. Snack bar: Soup was a hit. Moira looking into leasing a soft serve machine. Gary asked about pizza delivery at snack shack. He gave Moira a contact for this. We need a Saturday coordinator. Jerry Moro has agreed to do one more year (only) as safety coordinator. Auxiliary reported that a dunk tank needed to be reserved early. Opening day will be as before, and closing day will be a traditional BBQ. We will do the Big 5 fundraiser again. Neal discussed window and white decals as well as new gift items of clothing for sale. Casino night will be held earlier than last year, April 29. Pictures and hit-a-thon will be held on April 2. Scorekeepers will submit an article for the newsletter. Kathy mentioned that we need new scorekeeping equipment (scoreboard and transmitter units). Challenger still needs a coordinator. All volunteer applications must be in soon. Gary will research Positive Coaching Alliance and other options for training. Open Forum: Neal and Cindy will work on fundraiser letter next week. Next NCLL General Board Meeting: November 14th at 7:00pm at NCLL Fields Adjourned: 8:36 pm Mark Stenholm / NCLL Secretary

Sometimes it helps to say it twice...It’s important to note that parking is not allowed inside the gate, behind the snack shack.

City & state laws mandate that this area must remain clear to allow the passage of Emergency Vehicles in the event of an emergency. NCLL Board members are allowed to park inside the gate as a courtesy. The City of Fremont has been in contact with the League, issuing warnings about the extra cars parked inside the gate that block access, and threatening to solve the problem in the future by towing unauthorized
vehicles. Do your part by parking only in the designated areas outside the gate.

Just because you’re a guest at someone’s house, doesn’t mean you can’t help with the dishes...

After each game, it is the responsibility of the EACH TEAM to police the bleacher areas on their respective sides, making sure that all of the garbage and debris is picked up and put into the trash cans. Because it’s a new concept to many, some of the spectators are failing to do their part. If you see a member of the your cheering section on their way out the door, gently remind them of their obligations.

Say it again Part II: Wear your cup!

It happens every year... unnecessary + painful incidents, both in practices and in games, where players have taken foul balls, ground balls, or been cleated right in “the goods.” The guttural screams, the shortness of breath, the clenched teeth, the melonsized knots in the stomach– they can all be avoided simply by ensuring that your player is wearing a protective cup, each time they step onto the field. Doing so will protect the players, and ensure your legacy as a Grandparent.
