Former Skyhawk Doing Well at NCCU

Posted by Bradley Harris at Jul 5, 2012 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Tyrique Williams (Skyhawk '05), a redshirt junior gained valuable game experience  last season at North Carolina Central University. Tyrique is a 5'11' 200 lb defensive back for the Eagles.

Tyrique has started 2 games and participated in all 10 games in 2011.  He recorded 31 tackles, has 3.5 tackles for loss and recovered 1 fumble.

Tyrique and his family relocated to Georgia after he completed his Skyhawk career in 2005. During his senior season in 2008 at Union Grove HS in McDonough Ga., Tyrique had the following stats:

 - 63 tackles

 - 4 ints

 - 2 forced fumbles

 - 6 pass break-ups

NCCU head Coach Mose Rison noted the following during the recruitment of Tyrique:

Tyrique Williams: "Of all the kids in this class, he's the one we really had to fight for in the end. There was a lot of competition for this young man. I was very fortunate to visit him and his family in Atlanta, Ga. We think he's a tremendous football player and he can help us right now."

We wish Tyrique continued success at NCCU and the best in his future endeavors.

Chaz Williams (Skyhawk '04)  - has continued his collegiate basketball career at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) in the 2011-2012 season after transferring from Hofstra University. Chaz , 5'9" 175 lbs redshirt sophomore point guard is known for his great skills, ball handling and court vision and is a leader in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

During the 2011-2012 season, Chaz has done the following:

 - Leads team in scoring, assists, minutes played and steals

 - UMass played in the post season NIT Tournament reaching the semi-finals held at Madison Square Garden on Mar. 27, 2012

Chaz came to UMass after a stellar career at Bishop Ford HS. Chaz was the face of the program for 3 years. Chaz led the Falcons to back-to-back appearances in the CHSAA ClassA intersectional title game and had an outstanding career:

 - 4 year starter

 - Graduated as the 2nd leading scorer in Bishop Ford history

 - Avg. 25.9 pts and 6.2 assista as a senior

 - Named a Jordan Brand All-American

 - 1st All State (Class A) by NYS Sportwriters Association

 - 2nd team All-City by NY Daily News

During his Skyhawk days, Chaz was a very smart and proficient QB. He was instrumental in leading his Pee Wee and Bantam teams to the Championship Game. Chaz's game-breaking abilities were truly missed by the Skyhawk Bantams in 2005 when he elected to solely concentrate on basketball. Chaz went on to have great success at Bishop Ford and we know we'll hear more from him in the near future.

We wish you continued success in your future endeavors

Make Us Proud!!
