Ishaq Williams (Skyhawk '07) has been named the 2010-2011 Gatorade New York Football Player of the Year. Ishaq attends Abraham Lincoln High School and is the first player from that high school to be given this award.

The 6-foot-5 , 245 -pound senior DE/TE had led the Lincoln Railsplitters to an 11-1 record. The Railsplitters lost in the PSAL Championship Game to Fort Hamilton back on  Dec. 7, 2010.

Williams has recorded the following stats during his senior year:

  • recorded 39 tackles
  • seven sacks
  • 30 quarterback hurries
  • five forced fumbles
  • caught 15 passes for 258 yds and 4 tds

In addition to this honor, Ishaq is the only New York player selected to participate in the  2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl recently held in Jan. 2011.

Off the field, Ishaq has maintained a B average and volunteers with an elementary school reading program.

Ishaq has been one of the top recruits in the nation this season. Ishaq completed his high school studies at Abraham Lincoln in Dec. 2010  and is currently enrolled at the University of Notre Dame.

We wish Ishaq all the best in his future endeavors.

Special thanks goes to the MOMS, DADS and others that bring out food, beverages, etc. for the players each week. Not only do the players receive great food but our various opponents are also fed. It is with our deepest regret to inform our Skyhawk family and friends about the untimely passing of our Cheeleading Coordinator Tahisha Caraway-Dublin on Saturday, Nov 13th. Tahisha was also the wife of our Pee Wee Head Coach Garvin Dublin. Tahisha has been a member of the Skyhawk family for nearly 10 years. She will be greatly missed by all. We want to thank all the former players, teams, etc. that have expressed their condolences and undertsanding to the Skyhawk and Caraway-Dublin families.
