Former Skyhawk Doing Well at NCCU
Tyrique Williams (Skyhawk '05), a redshirt junior gained valuable game experience last season at North Carolina Central University. Tyrique is a 5'11' 200 lb defensive back for the Eagles.
Tyrique has started 2 games and participated in all 10 games in 2011. He recorded 31 tackles, has 3.5 tackles for loss and recovered 1 fumble.
Tyrique and his family relocated to Georgia after he completed his Skyhawk career in 2005. During his senior season in 2008 at Union Grove HS in McDonough Ga., Tyrique had the following stats:
- 63 tackles
- 4 ints
- 2 forced fumbles
- 6 pass break-ups
NCCU head Coach Mose Rison noted the following during the recruitment of Tyrique:
Tyrique Williams: "Of all the kids in this class, he's the one we really had to fight for in the end. There was a lot of competition for this young man. I was very fortunate to visit him and his family in Atlanta, Ga.
