Snackstand update!

Posted by Dennis Kane at Mar 11, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
(From April Beuder, Aux. President). If you didn't get your SNACKSTAND SCHEDULE on Opening Day, it can be picked up after 3/20...from 840 14th St., Man Bch Also, some snackstands continue to be open on a limited basis through this week...with ALL stands open and ready on 3/20. See you then!
Last year, a neighboring Little League got some very bad news. They were fined tens of thousands of dollars (yes, that's right) for failing a surprise snack stand health inspection. April Beuder is thrilled to report that Jeri Orzeck and Sherrie Brand have "stepped up to the plate" and have achieved certification through the Health Department. Thank you, Jeri and Sherrie!

What Lies Ahead

Posted by Dennis Kane at Jan 17, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
(In case you'd like to know what we've done, and what we'll be doing, to get ready for the spring season, please read this summary from Bill von Behren, this year's MBLL president.)
  • Registration materials have been mailed to returning players. Registration forms are also available on our website for new and returning families.
  • Walk-in Registration was held on:
      Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at Manhattan Heights; and, Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Manhattan Heights
  • Late registration and tryouts were held on Jan. 10 at Premier snack stand and Begg North field, respectively.
  • It is very late, but for t-ball, baseball coach-pitch and softball kid-pitch, you can still register by downloading the forms and mailing them in immediately. New registrants need to include a copy of the player's birth certificate or passport for proof of age. Registration is closed for kid-pitch baseball and coach-pitch softball leagues and if you managed to squeak in at the last minute, you are probably on a waiting list.
  • Teams will be formed by mid-February. Please don't call the hotline to determine which team your kid will be on. A manager will contact you in February.
  • Manager meetings and manager training will be sprinkled from late January to the third week in February.
  • First practices will commence around the third week in February.
  • Opening Ceremonies and Parade will be held on March 13, 2004.
Regards,
Bill
