Game 4 recap

Posted by Greg James at Apr 24, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Blazing A's gain the win by Forfeit 6-0. Yankees found themselves short players due to vacation and illness and could only field 7 players. The game was called a forfeit and the A's provided 2 of ours to fill their roster. Everybody got some time at positions and took some swings in a practice game. Euphemia was awarded the game ball for hustle, attitude and putting the ball in play for both clubs.

A catcher is discoverd!!!

Posted by Greg James at Apr 24, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
In a evenly matched game the went back and forth, a catcher emerged that was able to stop em dead in their tracks. Braxton took over behind the dish and immediately made an impact. Unfortunately in the end the Cardinals Garrett Haflich provided what was to become the game winning hit in the top of the 5th scoring 2. He was however thrown out at 2nd by our hustling BallHawks in the outfield and a great tag by Travis. Final score 10-8 Cardinals. Game ball goes to Jared for a monster 3 RBI Triple.

A's are on a roll!!! Game 7 is Big B's night!

Posted by Greg James at Apr 24, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Game 7, and the A's are rolling. We jumped out to a quick lead being selective at the plate, putting runners on board, and getting big hits with the bases juiced. Back to back 5 run innings and relaxed A's team was cruising with a 13 hit attack. Josh was un-hitable for three innings as he struck out 6 and retired 9 of the first 10 batters. Michael and Jared each pitched an inning of relief striking out 3 more and the defense continues to shine. Aaron started an amazing 6-3-5 double play with a quick scoop and throw at short. Layth made his debut at catcher and showed some great hustle and awareness. The "man" for the A's tonight was "Big B ", Braxton as he continued his recent havoc at the plate going 4 for 4 with 6 RBI's including a Grand Slam, and raisng his batting average to over 700! Game Ball, Braxton, Score A's 17, Mets 9.

Short-Handed A's battle to the last out!

Posted by Greg James at Apr 8, 2004 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The A's dropped a hard fought game that came down to the final out. A late inning rally came up short with runners in scoring position. Short handed with the absences of Josh, Jared, and Zach our team showed determination as they srapped out the runs and made some great stops in the field. For the third game in a row the A's out-hit their opponent 8-3 but could not plate the runners. Braxton led the attack with two hits and pitched outstanding, striking out 12,walking 3, and allowing only 3 hits. Layth picked up two singles and two RBI's and Collin added one of his own. He also made a great catch in right. Both Layth and Collin received game balls for their play. Final score ended up Reds 6, A's 4. Next up for the Blazing A's, handing the undefeated Yankees their first loss of the season next Thursday, April 15th.

Game two is a heartstopper

Posted by Greg James at Apr 1, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )
Game two found the A's in a Battle with the Giants.  The A's dropped the game by a score of 5-3 but looked solid.  The A's pitchers combined for a "one hitter" striking out 12 batters.  At the plate the A's cranked out 7 hits but unfortunately left 7 runners on base.  Aaron received the game ball for 3 strong AB's including his first RBI of the season.  Travis tore it up on the bases stealing 4 and Euphemia got in as a pinch runner and was able to cross the plate.  Next up for the A's.....The Reds April 3rd.  GooooooooooooooooooooA's..............
