Thank you to everyone who has expressed an interest in the STHA forming a third (“C”) travel team at the 12U level. The Board is currently weighing options on how to proceed with this proposal.
The Board is currently in the process of laying out the 2016-2017 ice schedule. We need to assess whether enough weeknight ice exists to field another travel team, as well as alternative options including potential late-afternoon and weekend ice time for this team. We must also carefully weigh how this option would impact our house program.
The May STHA meeting is the annual meeting where new officers are elected and the upcoming season's budget is discussed. There is no open floor discussion or Executive session at this meeting.
The potential 12U "C" team option will be formally discussed at the June board meeting. We would invite anyone interested in giving their thoughts to attend the June meeting. The date of the June meeting will be determined at the Annual Meeting in May and posted to the STHA website and Facebook page.
We also wanted to make everyone aware that in the event a 12U "C" is approved, there will be a separate tryout held for the team. The tryout would be expected to take place sometime during last two weekends in August.
