Bethesda Internationals

IB has been grouped with top level teams such as MSC United, LMSC Velez (PA-E) and Montclair Marauders (NJ). If IB advances to semis/finals, it could face either the Roadrunners, Ohio FC Crew or the Concord Clash. 4 May '03. A fine match between both teams with strong defenses. Neither team could strike a goal until late in a 1 minute stoppage when the Sharks scored a shot on the left side due to defensive hole. Congratulations to the Sharks for a great win!

3 May '03. The match was evenly played by both teams whose offenses moved the ball well up and down the field. Both defenses played tight and were determined to stop any balls from getting through; however, IB caught a break early in the 1st half by a Crew hand ball in the box, and scored first with the PK goal. Neither team could score until late in the 2nd half when the Crew managed to break through IB's defense and scored a shot from the right side to the cross bar and down into the net, with the match ending in a 1-1 tie.

13 Apr. '03. In its 2nd Div. 1 game, IB's defense stymied the RR's most of the match, but the RR's left F (Lester) struck a strong goal on the left side off of a nice pass from the right MF (Jeff) late in the 1st half. The RR's swift defense stopped IB's few scoring opportunities and a close-in shot by Pablo was snatched by the RR's GK (Chris). The game ended 0-1 in favor of the RR's and the second scoreless game for IB.

7 Apr. 03. Rockville Sports Plex announced today that Inter Bethesda has been awarded the division winner with a 5-2 (23:17) record. IB forfeited one game due to the PWSI Icebreaker tournament, and two other very good teams, White Hawks (BETH Thunder) and MSC Synergy Lightning, also forfeited their games with IB due to MSC March Madness tournament. IB's only loss came at the 'feet' of the fine ABGC Sharks.
