Eagles Sweep Dexter at University of Michigan
HARTLAND – John Baker drove in the winning run in the ninth inning of the opener and drove in
Hartland’s first two runs in the nightcap. Jake Lowery also had a good day at the plate, hitting triples in
each game and throwing a two-hit shutout in the nightcap, striking out 11. Jordan Kesson pitched four
innings of shutout relief in the opener, and Marcus Ziebold had two hits in the nightcap for the Eagles
(22-8).
“I thought we pitched really well,” Hartland coach Brian Morrison said. “Jordan pitched four strong innings.
He got in some tough situations and got a key strikeout a couple of times.

Eagles beat Novi in KLAA Association Crossover

The Eagles didn't allow the 20 minute rain delay to have any effect on the outcome of the KLAA Association Crossover game. The Eagles came out on top of Novi with a 8-4 win. Jake Lowery and Anthony Villar homered for the Eagles!

Eagles win over Lakeland Marks Coach Morrison's 300th Career Win
HARTLAND – Senior Stephen Milarch went four strong innings and also doubled and tripled to
help Hartland beat Lakeland 8-2 and give coach Brian Morrison his 300th career win.“Guys like
(assistant coaches) Aaron Bell, Gary Cottrel and Jim Jessen have been with me long time and have been
great guys in our program,” said a reflective Morrison, closing in on the end of his 12th season with the
Eagles.“You don’t do things like this without great help from guys like them and the numerous kids. ... It
makes me reflect on all the teams we’ve had and the good memories.”After giving up two runs in the first,
Milarch settled in, matching his six hits allowed with six strikeouts. Travis Johnson and Jordan
Kesson shut the door in relief as Eagles pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts.
Johnson and Brent Diamond joined Milarch with two hits apiece and the Eagles (19-8) committed no
errors.

Eagles Spilit with Zeeland on Senior Day
HARTLAND – It was a day to honor this year’s seniors and to welcome back a familiar face for the
Hartland baseball team on Saturday.The Eagles had their senior day under brilliant sunshine while
spltting a doubleheader with Zeeland East, losing the first game 1-0 before winning the nightcap 10-0.
Zeeland East is coached by Matt Sattler, a former Hartland standout who went on to play baseball at
Hope College. He was one of the players on Hartland coach Brian Morrison’s first teams.“It’s always
special when you see guys you coached do well,” Morrison said. “But to see Matt become a teacher and
a coach is extra special.”Sattler also had a new role on Saturday, less than 48 hours after his wife gave
birth to their first child.“He was a little tired,” Morrison joked.The Dux won the first game by stealing home
after a failed sacrifice bunt in the top of the seventh.In the nightcap, Jake Lowery pitched five innings
and went 3-for-4, belting two triples and a homer while driving in four runs.
Travis Johnson also doubled for Hartland (18-8), which also got two hits from Brent Diamond and
John Baker.
