Lancaster Chapter Meeting Dates

Posted by Paul Crouse at Aug 31, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

PIAA requires that each official attend a minimum of 6 local chapter meetings during each boys' season.  It is highly preferred that you attend those meetings at the one chapter with which you are affiliated, because each chapter and the league that they service have their own unique policies and procedures that need to be discussed at these meetings.  However, in the event of an unavoidable conflict, it is permissible to attend a meeting or two at another chapter.  If you do so, it is your responsibility to obtain credible written verification of your attendance from that chapter and provide it to our chapter's secretary, Rick Anderson.

In the event you need to attend a meeting at the Lancaster chapter, their dates are:

09/04/07
09/10/07
09/17/07
09/24/07
10/01/07
10/15/07
All meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Ephrata Middle School, 957 Hammon Ave, Ephrata, Pa 17522.  Enter at the front of the building (2nd entrance when entering the parking lot), then continue up the hallway to the cafeteria which is on the left.
This document (last updated 8/25/2007) includes directions to all fields currently being used by YAIAA schools.  If you detect any errors or if you know of an easier way to get to any of these fields, please send detailed instructions via email to Mike Epler.  Click on the "school information" handout below to download the directions.
Matches at Spring Grove will be played at the Spring Grove Youth Soccer Association Complex located at the Glatfelter Pulp Plant along Route 116.  From Route 30, follow Route 116 through the town of Spring Grove, past the pond on the Right. About 1/4 mile past the pond you will see a sign on the right with a soccer ball and SGYSA on it. Make a right at this intersection. At the bottom of the hill, prior to entering the pulp plant you will make a right on a stone road and follow back to the soccer complex. We will play at the first field on the left.

No JV Games for Hanover

Posted by Paul Crouse at Aug 19, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Due to an insufficient number of players, Hanover will not be fielding a JV boys team in the Fall 2007 season.  If you were assigned to officiate a JV match involving Hanover, that assignment is cancelled.  If you were assigned to officiate a Varsity match or a Varsity/JV doubleheader, the Varsity assignment remains valid.  It may be wise to verify the start time with the Hanover Athletic Department prior to the match.

Mandatory Rules Interpretation Meeting

Posted by Paul Crouse at Jul 21, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Our mandatory rules interpretation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 7 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at York Suburban High School. (Note the change in location from previous years.) PIAA requires every soccer official and head coach to attend this meeting, either at their home chapter or at any other PIAA soccer chapter across the state. Failure to attend results in a one year suspension. If you are unable to attend this meeting, you must attend at one of the other PIAA chapters anywhere in the state. This link will take you to the PIAA website where you can see a list of alternate dates and locations for the mandatory meeting. The earliest is July 26 in Troy and the latest is August 30 at Penn State University Park. Wherever you decide to go, make sure you sign their attendance roster as a visiting official so that we and PIAA get written confirmation from them of your attendance.
