TRADITION

The 2004 version of TRADITION Softball got off to a fast start this summer. The TRADITION 18u team won the PONY National Qualifier in Danbury, CT, and the TRADITION 16u team captured the ASA State Championship held in Milford, CT. Pitching was strong for both teams. TRADITION 18u got a one-hitter from Natalie Volpe in the championship game, a 2-1 win over FSA Tradition. Volpe and Amanda DeMatteo both threw no-hitters as the team won all six games in the tournament. TRADITION 16u got a perfect game from April Ghiroli in the opener of the state tournament. Nicole Davenport pitched the championship game, a 4-1 victory over the Stratford Seahawks.
