The Astros started the game with a double off the fense from Peter Marshall and continued
the string with hits from 7 of the first 8 batters in route to a 13 - 5 win over the Rockies. This victory clinched 2nd place in the regular season going in to the last week of the season before playoffs. Excellent job by all as George Murphy picked up his 2nd win . The game ended when Patrick Moffitt picked off a runner at 1st base from the catching position. Multiple hit nights from Peter, Mark, Karl and Patrick.

The Pirates pounded the ball and the Astros made numerous errors to keep rallies going, and took it on the chin 15 - 4 on Tuesday night. Aaron Dushkin had 2 hits and John Moffitt made a diving catch of a hard hit in left field for only a couple highlights to the game.
The Astros came back from a 2 run deficit in the 5th inning to beat the Dodgers 6 - 4. George Murphy picked up his 1st win of the season and pitched 5 strong innings and overcame 6 errors by the Astros in the 1st 3 innings. Chris St.Aubin punched a 2 strike hit through the infield to score the tying runs, and John Moffitt hit a deep sacrifice fly to drive in the winning run. Karl Pringle came in the last inning to strike out the side to preserve the win. The Astros now have a 3 game lead with 4 games remaining for 2nd place as we start the last round of games with all the teams before the playoffs.
The Astros 3 game win streak came to an end on Tuesday night as a slow start enabled the Cardinals to win 10 - 5. Although the Astros out hit the Cardinals 5 to 3, we gave them 9 walks vs 2 as Ross Haggard pitched another excellent game. The Astros rallied in the 5th inning with 4 runs, but a little late to come back all the way.
The Astros extended their win streak to 3 games and continued their hitting ways pounding out 12 hits in a 10 - 2 win over the Pirates on Wednesday night. Mark Robichau went 4 for 4 including 2 doubles and Karl Pringle went the distance for the win. A key play in the game in the 2nd inning was a sizzling double play from third to 1st to home, (St.Aubin to Moffitt to Moffitt). This stopped a rally when the game was only 4 -1 and changed the momentum in favor of the Astros. Excellent outing by all in the back to back late 8:00pm game schedule.
