For the first time, North Reading Little League is offering a summer baseball program for youngsters ages 5-7.

Jimmy Fund Sandlot Ball will start Saturday, July 13, and take place every Saturday through August 10 at Benevento Park. These 90-minute clinics will begin at 9 a.m., and include instruction and drills followed by a “coach pitch” game. There will be two divisions based on age.

NRLL is providing shirts and caps to all players. The cost is $50 and registration is now open on the www.nrll.org website. SEE THE “SIGN UP FOR NRLL” LINK AT THE TOP OF THE HOME PAGE. Coaches are needed as well and can volunteer when signing up their child.

This program is in addition to the Jimmy Fund League that NRLL offers for players ages 8-12. The Jimmy Fund season includes 10-12 games against nearby towns and runs from early July through early August, with most games on weeknights. There are three divisions: ages 8/9, 9/10, and 11/12.
