When we ask you to join us to “RAISE THE ROOF” we mean it…LITERALLY!
Due to a bad combination of foul winter weather and young vandals doing a dance on our batting cage roof, it has “kicked the bucket” and completely collapsed. Money fundraised this 2013 baseball season will be put towards rebuilding the roof for our players!
WHEN: Wednesday, April 24th
WHERE: East Side Craft House, 1445 East 41st (@ Knight St.)
TIME: 7:30pm
COST: $20.00 per ticket – this ticket purchase includes a burger & a beer! 50% of all ticket sales goes straight back to VMBA!
We know some of you may have games that night but we made the time a little later in the evening so you can stop by afterward!
Tickets will be available to purchase on Opening Day (April 13th) or by contacting Nadia at nadkevmax@shaw.ca
We look forward to seeing you all there and please remember to invite family & friends! The more the merrier!
Music Bingo will be going on that night, as well as a raffle to win some prizes and of course, Mel will be there selling 50/50 tickets for a chance to win the pot that evening!

Do you know of a student (must be at least 16 years old) who would like to earn some extra money this year, or would like to meet the volunteer requirements of the BC Secondary School Graduation Transitions program? If so, please send an email to Rebecca Stewart, Concession Manager for Vancouver Minor Baseball. Concession shifts are 3 hours long and pay $25/shift.  Rebecca will create a list of reliable students to run the concession throughout the spring and summer ball seasons. Sign up early as spaces may be limited!

PLAYER EVALUATIONS 2013

Posted by TONY YEE at Feb 15, 2013 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Spring 2013 * Player Evaluations

The purpose of the evaluations is to ensure we have balanced teams. All players will be placed on a team.

Your child must wear an athletic support and bring a baseball glove and batting helmet. Please bring both running shoes and cleats (optional) to the Boys and Girls club. Cleats can be worn at Nanaimo Park. Bats will be supplied, but you are welcome to bring your own.

If it is raining, evaluations may be rescheduled. If you are not sure, drive to the park or call the park information line at

604.327.2828 for updated information. It is best if your son/daughter attend all evaluations, so that the coaches can get to know your player.

All players must be registered before taking the field. Any player not living in the boundaries of VMB must see the registrar first, as you may need to get a release form from your local association. For Pee Wee and older, our boundary is east of Fraser St, west of Boundary Road, north of the Fraser River and South of Burrard Inlet. For Mosquito and younger, our boundary is all of Vancouver.

Evaluation Times below (your child should attend as many as possible).
