A GREAT GAME played to keep it a TIE Game.

The Players stepped up to play for the Tie. First let's congratulate Zach for a fabulous game in the goal. He did what we needed him to do. Before the game I had a talk with the players. I told them that I could not go out there and play for them. I told them they had to play the game the way that we have been practicing @ practice. I asked them to give me 110% and more in today’s game. Well, they did give what I thought they had to give, and it was an AWSOME GAME. Thank You All for stepping up today and getting the tie. Like I said after the game, the score does not show what we did. You definitely won that game, and you wore them out. We had so many shots on goal, as they did too. The Keepers won this game. The passes were better and the challenge for the ball was excellent. We stepped up to get to the ball when we lost possession. The 1st time we played Dublin on Jan 28th, they beat us 7-3, this time it ended in a 1-1 tie. A tremendous improvement. We need to continue to press ourselves for this type of continuing pressure and playing ability. GREAT JOB EVERYONE.

West Jeff vs Cypress

Posted by Jeff Stiffler at Oct 2, 2006 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Tuesday 10/03/06 Cypress Christian came to West Jefferson for the 2nd round of competition. They also brought 1 addition to the team that we did not see on Friday 9/29/06 when we beat them at their field 4-1. They had some speed with a big boot from #20. It really is amazing what 1 player can do for a whole team. West Jeff played hard and was so close to a few goals, with a goal disqualified due to an offside call. It was a beautiful cross from John Mere to Adam Murry, but Adam was a step off. It was a great try. For the most part we played hard, and did not give up. FINAL: WEST JEFF-0 CYPRESS-1 1st Half Stats: West Jeff 6 shots on goal, no goals Goalie: Justin Jacobs with 5 saves Cypress 10 shots on goal, no goals Cypress goalie with 5 saves 2nd Half Stats: West Jeff 5 shots, no goals Goalies: Justin Jacobs, Zach Jones with 3 saves each Cypress 12 shots on goal, 1 goal in the 5th minute of this half Cypress goalie with 3 saves
