Mid-Atlantic Paddlers Association

Only the toughest paddlers came out Thursday in 27 degree weather to spend the first day of the new year paddling. After a cold paddle on New Markert Creek four brave MAPA members went to Sentara for the annual New Years Day 5K. Of course Rusty and Leza won a door prize at the after race drawing! Then the gang traveled to Freda's for a lunch of hot sandwiches and blackeyed peas. At least the folks that came for lunch will be assured good luck for 2009.
