Welcome to the internet home of the

2006 & 2007 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPION 49ERS

Congratulations to the 2007 Champion 49ers

The 2007 season was a huge success for second year in a row for the 49ers.  The 49ers beat the Rams to won the National League Championship game 20-18.  The 49ers began their season with the player draft in July 2007.  We were positioned and scheduled to start picking our players in the 31st round of the draft because of our success in 2006.  Even though we began picking late, the coaching staff remained optimistic and confident that we would have a successful season with players drafted and returning players from the 2006 Championship Season.

The players began their season, worked hard, and made 49er history.  Since this league began over 40 years ago, the 49ers had never had a championship season, especially 2 years in a row.

The 49ers are part of the Fremont Football League based in Fremont, CA. The league was established in 1964 by members of the Oakland Raiders and has seen a few players make it to the professional level. The league has three divisions, which includes Continental, National, and American Divisions. The Continental division is our league’s newest division, established in 2005, will consist of six teams named Chiefs, Colts, Saints, Panthers, Cardinals, and Giants for players aged 7-8-9. Our team, 49ers, play in the National Division which consist of eight teams named Rams, Redskins, Steelers, Buccaneers, Eagles, Falcons, and Bills that has player aged 10-11-12. The American Division consist of six teams named Broncos, Raiders, Patriots, Vikings, Bears, and Jets for the older, larger players ages range from 12-13-14 with higher weight ranges.

Our goal as a staff is to develop well-rounded young men as football players and young women as cheer leaders who learn not only the fundamentals of football, but also the importance of education, in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound mind, body and character while having a good time along the way. We practice the ideals of sportsmanship and physical fitness. Our program stresses learning lessons of value far beyond the playing days such as, respect for authority, self-discipline, teamwork, friendship, and leadership.

And So It Begins

Posted by Tammy Elrod at Aug 26, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Well here we are, poised to begin another season, and this years niners look great. Our boys and girls have been practicing hard and judging by the scrimages we have had it shows. We have Jamboree Saturday morning, and we would like to see everyone in full uniforms at Harvest House on Fremont Blvd at 9:45 in the morning. The parade will start promptly at 10:30 and we are the first ones to follow the American High School Marching Band. Parking will be at a premium so you may want to get there early. Please respect the neighbors and don't park in anyones driveway or block any access drives. We are a host team this year for Jamboree and are going to be running the Jump House from 2:30 until 5:30. I want to thank everyone in advance for all of their hard work and dedication in getting everything ready.

Update

Posted by Tammy Elrod at Aug 7, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Parent Volunteers: The sign up sheets will be at the field through next week. All parents are needed to fulfill our league duty obligations. If you have trouble getting to the field to sign up please call me at 623-9830 and I can put you on the list. Raider games / Shoreline events: It has been brought to my attention that although we are welcome to help out another team working Raider games, we will not get paid for it, so I have instead signed up to work 3 events at Shoreline. Aug 23 call time 4pm - Comedy Jam, we need at least 8 people; Sept 20 call time 5:30 - Alabama Farewell Tour, we need at least 10 people; October 10 call time TBD - Aerosmith/Kiss, we need at least 15 people. These events are not a part of the necessary volunteer slots. These are just a fun way for our team to make some more money. I can always use more people than what is listed. All volunteers for these events must be adults as we will most likely be selling beer. Potluck Pool Party: Cheri Ochinero has graciously volunteered to coordinate the potluck for our 2nd annual pool party on August 16 from 1 - 5 at Coach Casey's house. She will be taking names for what food item you would like to bring. You should bring enough to serve about 10 people. Please see Cheri, she will be around the field during the early part of next week with the sign up sheet so please see her as soon as you can so we can make sure the party is fun for all. Jamboree Duty: As you know the 49ers are one of the host teams for this years Opening Day Jamboree and plans are underway for a day full of football, cheerleading and fun. This year the 49ers will be hosting the Waterslide Jump House (instead of the DunkTank, lucky coaches) and we need 2 parents for each of our 2 hour shifts in the afternoon. I have added this event to our volunteer sign up sheets. Raffle Items: Please let me know when you have been able to secure items for our team's field raffle on Sept 6. So far we have a gift certificate for 2 for dinner. Parent/player info sheets and Website Authorization forms: As the season gets underway we need to get these forms in for ALL players both girls and boys to ensure reminders are given, and pictures of your child are posted etc. Please turn these in by Friday Aug 15. Cookie Dough/Pizza/Pretzel order: These are due NLT Friday Aug 15 with money. Delivery will be at our field Aug 28. As always, if you have any questions or just need to sign up for things via phone, don't hesitate to call me.

Pool party date set

Posted by Tammy Elrod at Aug 6, 2003 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
Well the first week of practice has been great for the entire team, parents included. Parent volunteer signups are going well. We only have a few more events to do. The football players are demonstrating their skills as offense and defense and the cheerleaders have already learned lots of cheers. We will have our pool party (Potluck) at Coach Casey's on Saturday, August 16 from 1 - 5. I will have a sign up sheet at the field for you to mark down what you can bring. I also have gotten our Jamboree day duty, so I will have a sign up sheet there for that as well. See you all soon.
