Viking Fans Come Out in Full Force to Support Their Team

The Polar Bears dominated the Vikings, but the stands were awash in orange clad fans who were there to cheer on their Hoover team.  Hundreds of students and families packed Center Ice on Wednesday night for a game between Jackson and Hoover which was non-league, but most likely the biggest rivalry of the season.

The Vikings came out strong and dominated first period play.  A beautiful goal that hit the inside white bar and bounced out of the crease was placed by Bradley Harcourt, assisted by Preston Mackert and Spencer Mackert.  The period ended 1-0 in favor of the Vikings.

Jackson scored quickly and frequently in the beginning of the second period, lopsiding the score, and forcing the Vikings to more physical play.  A penalty ridden second and third period left the Hoover squad on penalty kill, and the game ended with two five minute penalties, resulting in both a Hoover and a Jackson player leaving the ice with just three minutes left to go in the game.

The team takes a break for Christmas, with play starting again December 29th against Normandy at Kent State Ice Arena as a part of the Kent State Holiday Tournament.  Come out and support your Vikings at 9:00 pm on the 29th, and again on December 30th at 10:00 am against CVCA and 8:00 pm against Brunswick, all at Kent State.  GO VIKES!!!!
