Tale of Two Tiger Teams Ends Well for the Vikings!!

Two consecutive games against Tigers ended in a victory Sunday morning for the Vikings. After a disappointing game against the Cleveland Heights Tigers on Saturday night, the team pulled it together to come out strong against the Chagrin Falls Tigers on Sunday morning.

Saturday's game started as an even match, with the first period ending 0-0. 14 seconds into the second period, a goal by the Tigers started the scoring with goal numbers 2 and 3 coming just minutes later. With just under two minutes to play in the second, Viking forward Zach Lawson placed the puck over the goalies shoulder to bring the score to 3-1. The third period brought four more goals for the Tigers, ending the game 7-1.

Sunday morning's game's first goal was scored by Chagrin Falls, firing up the Vikings who did not want to go down in the second game of the weekend. One minute later, Bradley Harcourt, assisted by Zach Lawson, started the scoring for the Vikings, with goal number two score by Lawson, assisted by defenseman Spencer Mackert on a slapshot from the point. Second period saw three goals, one from the Tigers and two by the Vikings, one by Alex Zielke, unassisted and the other by Daniel Murphy, assisted again by Spencer Mackert.

The last goal of the game was scored by the Tigers, with the puck in the Viking zone for the last two minutes of the game, making it a nail-biter for Hoover fans. Impressive netminding by Kirk Greenho kept the puck out the net, ending the game in a victory. Next up is Jackson on Wednesday night at Center Ice. GO VIKES!!
