BMR evening session

Posted by Larry Baum at Apr 3, 2012 3:57PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello Parents and Cadets,

I am going to try something new to help the cadets prepare for Recruit Training. This Wednesday evening, I will be holding an optional BMR study session at my house from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. It is also OK if you come late or leave early. I am just trying to give the boys an atmosphere that may help them prepare for the Recruit Training in June.

The address is 410 Holly Lynn Drive, Cary, IL 60013.

Please be sure to respond on the website with your intentions. You can also call or text me at 312.914.7016.

Kind Regards,

Larry Baum

Hello Parents and Cadets:

I will be hosting a teleconference for parents this Thursday night, April 5, beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The purpose is to let you know more details about the upcoming Recruit Training (also called Boot Camp) that will take place at the Naval Station Great Lakes in June. It is also a good forum to ask questions about the Recruit Training and anything else regarding the USNSCC program.

Please mark your intention to attend or not to attend on the TeamPages site.

The dial in number is: 866-217-3840

The conference code is: 9147016

Kind Regards,

31 March Drill

Posted by Larry Baum at Mar 29, 2012 9:45AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

All Hands,

For our drill this Saturday, please note the following:

Community ServiceThis coming Saturday, we will be participating in our first Community Service opportunity as a team. On the last Saturday of each month, from March through October, the township collects unwanted paint for recycling. We will be responsible for 5 shifts each hour during the morning of 31 March. Our cadets will be wearing their NWUs and then covering them with coveralls provided by the township. Our job will be to mix the paint and ready it for proper disposal, as instructed by the Algonquin Township Highway Department.

So that I can manage our timeline and personnel this coming Saturday, it is particularly important that your cadet’s attendance intention to attend is properly reflected on the TeamPages website. We have arranged for this community service for two reasons. First, it is to thank the township for letting us use the Hall every other Saturday. Second, it is to help your cadet earn hours toward their Community Service Ribbon. Cadets that accumulate 40 hours of true Community Service earn the privilege of wearing the USNSCC Community Service Ribbon on their dress uniform.

Lunch: It has become too time consuming for us to run out to get food when the cadets bring money instead of food. Please have your cadet bring a lunch for chow time.

BMR Assignment: Please have your cadet bring the printed Assignment 4 (chapters 6 & 7). We will review this in class.

Warmest Regards,

XO

Borland’s 2012 Annual Inspection was a success.. Borland scored a 3.8 out of 4.0. “Well done”.
I received a note from WO Michael Sminchak, Borlands XO, thanking Benfold Division for it’s support of the event. It was a nice opportunity for our new division to interact with Cadets that have been around awhile and see what to expect next year for our own annual inspection.

Thank you to officers, instructors and parents that hit the deck early and made the trip to Rockford with us. Special thanks to Borland Division for their continuing hospitality towards Benfold.
