All Hands!

We are preparing for the fundraising car wash this Saturday. It should be fun, a good chance to earn recruiting ribbons and earn funds for our future drill activities!! To allow me to prepare, can you please let me know:

Will the cadet be attending? (please check button on the meeting page, or send me an email)

  • We also need adults to help with traffic flow in the parking lot – safety first!!
  • Do you have carwashing gear (sponge mitts, chamois cloth, hose nozzles, 5-gallon buckets) that we can use and then return back to you?
  • We will need signs for the cadets to hold up. Are you able to make one before Saturday morning?

That is it for now!! Please look for more updates/instructions :)

Our First Fundraiser!
Earn your own drill rifle and your own Navy PT gear!

Adam’s 15 passenger van will depart from Holy Cross at 6 a.m. Sat and Sun, returning between 5 & 5:30. RHC is providing lunch (maybe bring a snack & water.)

Dress is full NWUs with civilian rain gear and civilian cold weather gear. No peacoats or leather dress gloves. Please also bring alternate civilian clothing/footwear, that you don’t mind getting VERY dirty in a separate bag. And a towel :)

Our goal is 12 attendees each day. If you know anyone that is not a cadet that wants to come with, please let Adam or Larry know. Parents/siblings welcome too! This will be FUN and will allow us to begin to do more fun things!

Bring to All Drills

All Hands,

Here is a list of what you should bring to all drills, unless otherwise noted in a POD (Plan Of the Day) or a separate communication.

  • Weather Appropriate PT (Physical Training) Gear.
  • Lunch. If needed, label and place in refrigerator before drill begins.
  • Plenty of water.
  • All assignments from the BMR manual, whether completed or not. The lessons that we cover in the classroom portion of the drill will be dictated by what most cadets have not completed. I strongly recommend that you have these assignments in a 3-ring binder so you can carry them easily. If you have the entire BMR manual printed, you can bring that as well.
  • The dress of the drill is almost always NWUs. When we do anything sloppy (like paint recycling), we will have you wear other clothes from now on. Since we will almost always be marching, a coat to wear over the NWUs, or your Navy turtleneck may be appropriate. Additionally, thick-cushioned, over the calf boot socks are a must. If your boots are too big, wear two pairs of socks. No blisters :)

See you Saturday morning at 0845.
