  Registration for our 13-15 y/o's baseball division upcoming season is via on-line registration ONLY...details in "Info//News" section at left.  Limited roster spots available on "first come - first served" basis.

General Spring PBRL Season info below...

    ** Spring Baseball Season on-line registration typically opens in late-January  via this site.  Eligible participants include incoming League-age 13 thru 16 yr-olds [based on birthdate as of April 30, 2019] **

Play starts in late-April and games occur about twice per week (typically Sunday, and at least one weekday game) against other Aquidneck Island Babe Ruth teams.  Practices/games from mid-April until late-June with double-elimination playoffs expected.

  Players eligible for PBRL include those residing in and/or attending academic school in Portsmouth, Tiverton, Little Compton, Bristol and Warren RI.  

 Players with birthdays from **May 1, 2002 through April 30, 2006** are eligible to participate in PBRL in Fall 2018/Spring 2019.  The official Babe Ruth League, Inc. age chart can be found by clicking within our "Links" page.  Incoming League-age 16 yr-olds are again expected to be eligible for Spring 2019 play, but with specific pitching and bat restrictions imposed (see latest rules link).

Spring League games are played vs. other Portsmouth, Middletown and Newport teams weekday evenings and one day on the weekend; about 15-20 games including playoffs can be expected.

2019 Spring Baseball-eligible players: Boys and Girls Ages 13-16 (of age before May 1, 2019)          2018 13-15 Div. Fall Ball Fee: $85.00    2018 Spring Season Registration Fee:  $115.00

Parking info - Newport:  available during most Babe Ruth games at lot across from Cardines Field (alongside Fire Station) on W. Marlborough St. for reduced fee of $2.00

2019 PBRL-registered players are eligible for exclusive winter batting cage time at Inside the Park hitting facility, 288 Plymouth Ave. (3rd floor), Fall River MA [note: same location as 2018].  EXPECTED/STILLTO BE CONFIRMED start date Monday February 18, 2018 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm and continuing each Monday evening through March 25 (planned six total dates).  This special offer is provided to PBRL players registered for the 2019 Baseball season at NO additional cost! PBRL Adults will be on-site to assist/supervise.

Primary entry to complex is at corner of building (side entry) closest to Plymouth Avenue, then up stairs to 3rd Floor.

On-line registration is the principal method for player sign-up within our league.  Player on-line registration (via the above link) for the 2019 Spring PBRL season begins as of late-January 2019 ("wait-list" for late registrants may be in effect just prior to reaching team roster maximums).  This is a first come-first served system so players should be registered early to ensure a place within the league.  Upon establishment of a wait-list, initial registration may be started but no payment will be required at that time...until *possible* approval of registrant by PBRL BoD at a later date.  Contact PBRL President Bob McSparren  re: registration questions...   robert.mcsparren@gmail.com

The 2018 Spring season player registration fee was $115.00...it is helpful to have credit card info and player medical info handy upon registering.  We offer a single mixed age-group developmental but competitive baseball division for all our community players who are "league age" 13 through 16 years old.

Eligible players MUST ONLY have birthdays from May 1, 2002 through April 30, 2006 and are REQUIRED to be residents of (*or* attend academic school within) the Rhode Island towns of Portsmouth, Tiverton, Little Compton, Bristol or Warren.

FALL BALL PLAYER REGISTRATION to open by August 10, 2018 - ONLY on-line registration will be available.  Two Portsmouth teams are planned -- roster spots are on first come, first served basis.  Questions?  Please contact PBRL President Bob McSparren:  robert.mcsparren@gmail.com 

PBRL Fall Baseball program is for new players presently moving up from Little League and other programs (as just completed "league-age 12 year olds") to the big sized baseball diamond, as well as current 13-15 year old Babe Ruth players.  This is a relaxed, fun and instruction-oriented Fall season with younger players highly encouraged to participate to ease their transition to the large field.

** Bats **  The only acceptable bats for use in Babe Ruth Baseball are bats either having the BBCOR stamp or USABat stamp.  If using a wood bat it MUST be a solid one-piece wood bat (NO composite handles nor Bamboo-type wood bats are acceptable).  These new bat rules per Babe Ruth National went into effect in early 2018 for the entire B/R 13-16 Division.  Additional info on approved bats can be found in our "Links" section.

Eligible players include those from Portsmouth, Tiverton, Little Compton, Bristol and Warren RI (and students attending academic school in any of these communities).  More info on this in article below...  

Multiple Portsmouth teams (depending on player registration count) play one game each weekend (typically Saturday) and one game mid-week within the Aquidneck Island Fall Babe Ruth League, starting around the second Saturday in September and going until late October.  At least one all-players practice is scheduled each week as well.

Roster spots are 'first come, first served' and fill quickly!   Registrants are encouraged to sign up early via our on-line link ... found in the headline above for this article.  Player registration fee for 2018 Fall Ball remains at $85.00.

Creation of a new 16U Fall team for our oldest players is now planned in 2017.  Players with their 17th birthday occuring on or after May 1, 2017 will be eligible.  At least one mandatory skills evaluation session for interested players will occur in August **prior to registration opening up specifically for this 16U age group**... session date set for Saturday August 19, 11am - 12:45pm at Portsmouth's Seveney Field.

Participation with this team will require additional player commitment -- competitive high school level play in a wood bat-only league with doubleheader games each weekend and some travel to off-island ball fields required.  Player registration fee for the 16U team is anticipated to be $150.00, due to additional games and umpire fees.
