News and Announcements

The Sachem Little League 9/10 year olds win with a 7-0 No-hitter over Selden Centereach.

Congratulations to Erik Corchia, who pitched a complete game no-hitter in game one of the NYD35 Tournament.

Erik, threw 13 stikeouts, with only two walks, in 6 innings.

There was a lot of nervous chatter in the crowd as Erik headed out to the mound in the sixth inning with only 10 pitches left on his pitch count. However, Erik provided quick relief to all who witnessed as he proceeded to throw consecutive "two pitch" outs and one "four pitch" strike out to complete the game, leaving three pitches to spare.

The rest of the team provided plenty of run support.

I great way to start the Tournament.

Good Luck the rest of the way kids.

Blue Jays are Champions

Blue Jays Win 2009 Championship!

The Blue Jays dodge a last inning comeback from a gutsy Dodgers team to win the 2009 Minors Division.

In big league like fasion, both managers Tom Murray and Brian Court stuck with the formula that got them to the big game. Throughout the season the Jays would score early with their top heavy lineup and mix pitchers, never allowing their opponents to get second or third looks at their deep piching staff.  Meanwhile the Dodgers continued to play good defense wanting to keep the game close, score late inning runs, and then hand the ball over to their talented closer Ricky Marino.

Both game plans appeared to have gone according to plan.  It took a courageous effort from relief pitcher Damon Messina and a sprawling dive from second baseman, Tyler Murray to get the final out with bases loaded in the last inning to seal the one run victory for the Champion Blue Jays.

See this link to view photos of the game.

Congratulations to our 2009 Minors Champions!
