Challenger Team takes home the Gold!
Sachem Challenger Team Wins Gold Medal in the Long Island Regional Olympics.
The Sachem Challenger Team continues on their success by capturing the Gold Medal in the 2009 Long Island Regional Olympics. This win earned them the right to be called the #1 New York State Special Olympics ChallengerTeam in Long Island for 2009.
This talented Challenger team managed by Roger Smith and his coaching staff have competed in the New York State Special Olympics the past two years and have won silver and bronze medals respectively. This year the team was determined to return to Seneca Falls and compete for the Gold. Sadly,the economy has even impacted the Special Olympics and due to budgetary constraints, the Special Olympics Committee was forced to cancel team level competition and would only hold individual skills competition. Thus, the Long Island Regional Event would be the tournament for team level competition. While the Challenger Team was disappointed in not being able to make the trip to Seneca Falls to compete at the statewide level, they remained determined to represent themselves, their families and community admirably and are now 2009 Champions Long Island Regional Champions.

SACHEM LL Fall Instructional League at PAL BASEBALL COMPLEX

Important: Dates have changed!
Due to recent interest in our Fall Instructional League we would like to push back the start date from Sept 18th to September 25th. This will help give families a chance to register their children and participate in the full program. The Instructional League will still run for five consecutive Fridays from Sept 25th - Oct. 23rd. To register for the league you can download the Flyer and Registration Handout, or call The LI Baseball Academy at (631) 366-4899 and register directly with them.
Please register no later than Wednesday September 23rd.
Confirmed Dates: September 25 - October 23
1 Session per week for 5 consecutive weeks
Fridays: 5-6:30 (weeks 1-2) 4:30-6 (weeks 3-5)
$110/player
Less than $15/hour for 7.5 hours of professional instruction.
(Each player registers individually.)
- Available to all skill levels between the ages of 7-12
- A unique way to train and develop players in game situations
- Teaching individual skills within the team concept
- Focus on instruction and player improvement NOT on game scores
- Players are grouped according to AGE and SKILL LEVEL
- Must register by SEPTEMBER 12
- Upon receipt of registration form, players will receive a confirmation letter

Sachem Baseball 9 & 10's will play a tough Islip American at Sunrise 07/24/09 5:30 PM in the Semi Finals.
