We had a super fun day at Big Creek this year, and hope you had a good time too.  I t was our first year to offer the summit race, and the athletes and conditions didn't disappoint.  Course records where established-Alex Foote won the male summit event in 2:37:15, while Sue Turley raced to the female title in 2:51:33.  Both Alex and Sue where awarded "Best Climber" as well, unofficially in 1:29 and 1:49.  On the 10K course, Cody Williamson and Sarah Johnson bettered their course records from 2012, rocking 40:23 and 47:47 respectively.  I guess the bees where bad in the woods, but after extensive searching we never did find that next on the trail.  We are happy you all came out relatively unscathed.

Next year some changes are in store.  The USFS is closing Big Creek Campground for some extensive renovations.  we will have access to the trails, but the race course will almost certainly be altered (hopefully for one year only). We will probably start the summit racers earlier than the10K racers next year. We will have no race day registration next year.  We anticipate having packet pick-up before race day to make things easier for everybody as well. Don't worry, we won't require early pickup, just make it available. Race date for 2014 is August 9th. Many thanks for coming out and running hard, hope to see you all out and about at other events.
