WNY SOFTBALL
This past week, there was a meeting between the executive boards of WNYFPSL and NFGSA (NFL). At this meeting, animosities were put aside, and the state of softball in this area was discussed. Questions were asked and answered. Operations of each league were discussed. It became clear that even though each league was successful on their own, at this time both leagues were now very similar in how they were run. The longterm sustainability of two competitive leagues in the same area was a key issue. Being so similar, it was decided that now was the time to move forward and work for what we all are, and should be about...The Girls.
I personally would like to thank John Amhrein and Todd Reiman for accepting our invitation for this meeting. I would also like to thank all of you that put your faith in me the last fews years, and worked with me. One last thank you goes to all of you that "put up" with my yearly emails and phone calls. I am sure that grew tiresome.
For out of town, and Canadian teams that played for us...nothing has changed. You are more than welcome to join what we all believe is "the league" to play in come 2011 and beyond.
Ps....The link for THE competitive softball league in the WNY area is now: http://www.eteamz.com/NFGSA/ Hope to see you all there!

CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 2010
This year's Championship Day was held Thursday August 12th, 2010, and was a huge success! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the girls enjoyed the giveaways, and the games were very competitive. We would like to thank the Amherst Girls Softball League for allowing us to use their complex. We would also like to thank Wendy's and New Era/Inferno Baseball for their giveaway donations. Next year we hope to make this even better. The results are below:
14U~ Mustangs Peterson tied their game with Lightning Safir at 1, in the bottom of the 7th, then won the game 2-1 in the international tiebreaker.
