New Era Diamond Girls finish second at ASA Eastern Nationals!The New Era Diamond Girls Gold 16U Girls Fast Pitch Softball team headed to York, PA last week to attend the ASA Eastern Nationals.

The tournament included several pool games in a double elimination format. The girls played their hearts out in a 13 inning heavy weight battle vs. the Pittsburgh Power and came out on top 6-2 to move on to the winners bracket championship game. They lost the bracket championship game to the Tigerlillies of Ohio and went on to win the losers bracket game to get a rematch and beat them the first time 5-3. The stage was set for the championship game and it came down to extra innings were a 4-3 loss ended the tournament in a hard fought battle by both teams. The Diamond Girls went 9-2 overall in the National tournament.

Members of the team include Nikki Attea, Caitlin Colucci, Michelle DelPrince, Ashley Fillmore, Yanava Hawkins, Courtney Kadish, Robin Kennery, Ashley McCormick, Jen Mikolajek, Kyle Plimpton and Taylor Swiatek. The team is coached by Larry Colucci, Mitch DelPrince and Chris Swiatek.

TEAM NEW ERA DG 14U WINS WEST SENECA

Congratulations to the New Era Diamond Girls 14U (Opera) who went 6-0 and battled through a tough bracket coming from behind late in their last 3 games to take the Championship. The girls played hard and battled again through injuries to key players, Great Job Girls!!

MUSTANGS WIN IN WELLSVILLE

The WNY Lady Mustangs 16U coached by Al Cavagnaro won the 16U Wellsville  Tournament. Great job ladies!
The New Era Diamond Girls 14U had a tough road to the Championship game having to play the hard hitting Lady Rebels of Horseheads twice, and another excellent team the Port Fury, from Williamsport PA, before reaching the final game and defeating the Mississauga Tigers.

The New Era Diamond Girls traveled to Binghamton to compete at BAGSAI and were able to go 7-0 to win the summer sizzler.

As the day warmed up, the Diamond Girls bats got hot! They played teams from Pennsylvania, the Gravediggers, the Tremors Elite, STPS Ponies, Diamond Dusters, Lady Bombers and the BC Breakers all from NY.

Congratulations to the team for a hard fought weekend of softball and the character they displayed in the semi final game!
