The CABC is proud to announce that Waterbury, CT will be hosting both the Roberto Clemente (8U) and Miclkey Mantle (16U) World Series in 2016.  These promise to be 2 great events.

 The Clemente World Series (which was alos held in Waterbury in 2015) will be played from July 21-24.  Up to 16 teams are expected to participate.  Pool play will be followed by a Championship Bracket.  There will also be a consolation bracket.  Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. 

The 2015 Clemente World Series, whcih was won by Puerto Rico, featured a parade and an appearance by Roberto Clemente, Jr.

It is estimated that teams advancing to World Series from the North Atlantic Region will receive the following allowances in 2016:

Stan Musial-  $0

Connie Mack- $8,000   

Mickey Mantle- $0   

Sandy Koufax- $3,000

Nolan Ryan- $0

Pee Wee Reese- $6,000   

Willie Mays- $0

Jackie Robinson- $0 

Roberto Clemente- $0

These amounts are subject to change.

Additional monies may be allocated from the Region based on the Regional dues collected.

REGISTRATION

LEAGUE OFFICIALS must register their League online and pay their National dues at AABC.US (State dues of $15.00 per team and Regional dues of $5.00 per team should be mailed to CABC at PO Box 1709, Waterbury, CT  06721; please include a copy of your registration).

If you have not already done so, you will have to create an account when registering.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU INCLUDE THE CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS FOR THE COACH OF EACH TEAM WHEN YOU REGISTER YOUR LEAGUE.

For those Leagues which also want to use paper rosters, following are tabs for blank and "fillable" rosters.

RULES CHANGES FOR 2016 HANDBOOK
 
Change to registration fees: 1-6 Teams $200, each additional tram is $28 per team.

Teams advancing to a Regional Qualifier (state) tournament, Regional Tournament and National Qualifier tournaments will owe an additional fee of  $50.00 per tournament.  This fee will be collected by the tournament director before play begins for the tournament. 

Single Age World Series participants will owe an additional $100.  This fee will be collected by the tournament director before play begins.

Please note that a new Region has been created.  This will be the Northwest/Canada Region and Steve Avila is the Regional Vice President.  Si Pettrow has been named West Regional Vice President.  Tony Santoro will be Vice President of Mickey Mantle and Marc Johnson will be Vice President of Sandy Koufax.

The AABC By-Laws have been amended to allow League Presidents to attend our annual meeting and vote on rule changes.

1.   Leave current age date of May 1.

2. Connie Mack Division
A player is eligible if he is 18 years old on May 1 of the year of participation or 19 years old during the year of participation if he graduated from high school in the current year.
A 19 year old player claiming eligibility by use of the graduation exemption must show a copy (original or facsimile) of his HS diploma to be certified as eligible.  Eligibility is granted to graduating seniors only under the exemption.  A GED credential certificate is also acceptable.

3. Mickey Mantle Division
A player is eligible if he is 16 years old on May 1 of the year of participation or 17 of the year of participation if he is a sophomore in high school.  Eligibility is granted to the 17 year old sophomore if he produces an original notarized document signed by a school official as to his grade status.

4. Ken Griffey, Jr. Division
A player is eligible if he is 15 years old on May 1 of the year of participation or 16 of the year of participation if he is a freshman in high school.  Eligibility is granted to the 16 year old freshman if he produces an original notarized document signed by a school official as to his grade status.

5. Sandy Koufax Division
A player is eligible if he is 14 years old on May 1 of the year of participation or 15 of the year of participation if he is an 8th grader in middle school.  Eligibility is granted to the 15 year old 8th grader if he produces an original notarized document signed by a school official as to his grade status.

6. Rules 1002, 1106, 1206 and 1308 Regarding Re-Entry.
Add, if a starting pitcher is withdrawn and re-entered, he may re-enter the game in the same batting position but not as a pitcher.

7. Rule 101
Minimum dues will be $200 for 1-6 teams.

8. Rule 101
Eliminate the $5 per team regional collection.

9. Rule 101(d)
The deadline for the payment of National Dues is June 15th for all divisions.

10. Rule 221(g)
Add at the end, all bats must have the certification and stamp of USA Baseball beginning in 2018.

11. Rule 101(a)
Add in bold, all registrations must be submitted on line, or via an approved spread sheet to the National Office.

12. Pitch Smart may be implemented at the local league levels, but it will not be utilized in National Competition.

17. Rule 214
Add at end of last sentence, Tournament Committee with the approval of the National Office may call a game if due to weather if official game has been reached.

18. Rule 222
In last sentence change denied to reduced.
